The Equipment Design Engineer II must maintain the engineering methods that support problem solving and continuous improvement efforts established by the Sr. Equipment Design Engineer and the Equipment Manager.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Designs and develops complex equipment through to implementation and validation</li>\n <li>Organizes and directs equipment launches and enhancements</li>\n <li>Maintains quality work produced by the department Influences team members and promotes idea to improve design and implementation practices</li>\n <li>Analyzes cost and benefits of various solutions, followed by appropriate recommendations</li>\n <li>Produces drawings and data sheets to ensure compliance with design criteria standards</li>\n <li>Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned project phases and prepares required reports and summaries to communicate project progress or results.</li>\n <li>Ensures successful completion of assigned project phases within the budgeted time and cost constraints set forth for them by the Equipment Manager.</li>\n <li>Coordinates large and small projects through installation, issue identification, analysis and repairs.</li>\n <li>Defines process sequences and operational targets for automated lines and workflows.</li>\n <li>Collaborates with internal stakeholder as well as external automation design teams</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Design Engineering or related field of study</li>\n <li>3+ years of related work experience in Machine Design</li>\n <li>Prior experience designing custom automation equipment and intricate mechanism design</li>\n <li>Prior hands-on experience beneficial</li>\n <li>Demonstrates creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices</li>\n <li>Ability and willingness to grow and learn in the job</li>\n <li>Ability to conceptualize new automation techniques; design and implement these concepts on a continual basis</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of a variety of technologies commonly used in automated equipment (motors, pneumatics, tooling and machine shop practices etc.)</li>\n <li>Strong hands-on prototyping abilities</li>\n <li>Proficient in modeling & drafting software (AutoCad/Solidworks)</li>\n <li>Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work cross-functionally to communicate clearly with non-experts about technical requirements and features</li>\n <li>Ability to prioritize multiple, competing priorities during high volume periods</li>\n <li>Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills</li>\n <li>Team player with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; PowerPoint, Word and Excel</li>\n <li>Basic understanding of PLC programming, ladder logic, and input/output functionality</li>\n <li>Basic understanding of electrical schematics</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>East Penn Benefits</h2>\n<p><strong><u>East Penn offers excellent benefits:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive compensation</li>\n <li>Group health insurance that includes high quality medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage with a low employee premium</li>\n <li>Retirement Savings Plan with company match and a 3% employer contribution</li>\n <li>9 paid company holidays, 2 paid personal holidays, and 10 paid vacation days annually</li>\n <li>Employee assistance program</li>\n <li>Fitness Discounts</li>\n <li>Promotional opportunities</li>\n</ul>",
