Responsibilities Directeur(trice) Environnement, Santé, Sécurité et Amélioration Continue Sommaire du Poste Relevant du Directeur Général et membre du comité de direction de RTI Claro, une division de Howmet Aerospace, le Directeur Environnement, Santé et Sécurité (ESS) est responsable de la gestion complète du programme ESS de l’usine. La personne occupant ce poste s’assure de fournir un environnement sécuritaire pour tous les employés, sous‑traitants et visiteurs, tout en garantissant la conformité à toutes les réglementations fédérales et provinciales, incluant celles de la CNESST. Ce rôle assure également la conformité environnementale, la gestion des matières dangereuses, l’hygiène industrielle, la sécurité incendie et la gestion des risques. Le Directeur ESS réduit stratégiquement les risques pour toutes les parties prenantes grâce à une approche proactive et axée sur l’amélioration continue, tout en favorisant une culture de sécurité forte et durable. Selon les besoins de l’entreprise, ce rôle pourrait être amené à diriger d’importantes initiatives d’amélioration continue afin de soutenir la performance opérationnelle de l’usine tout en maintenant efficacement la gestion du programme ESS. Responsabilités principales Conformité légale et gestion des programmes ESS Collaborer avec le département ESS corporatif pour diriger et gérer le programme ESS de l’usine. Maintenir une forte présence sur le plancher et effectuer des inspections régulières pour assurer le respect des réglementations et des politiques Howmet. Assurer la conformité complète aux exigences du régime intérimaire de la LSST, incluant le Programme de prévention (PP), le Programme de santé spécifique à l’établissement (PSSE), les analyses de risques et les obligations du Comité SST. Assurer la gestion complète du SIMDUT 2015 : inventaire des produits, FDS, étiquetage, formation, conformité au RSST. Identifier, évaluer et atténuer les risques liés à la santé, la sécurité, l’environnement et les risques psychosociaux (RPS). Obtenir, maintenir et garantir la conformité avec les permis, approbations et rapports environnementaux (air, eau, déchets, EPA, etc.). Coordonner le développement, la mise en œuvre et le maintien des systèmes de gestion environnementale nécessaires aux certifications tierces (ISO, audits corporatifs). Gérer la conformité avec tous les permis, réglementations, plans et programmes environnementaux. Assurer la gestion documentaire complète des registres ESS (accidents, enquêtes, inspections, formations, permis, audits). Opérations, prévention et gestion des risques Travailler avec le Directeur des Opérations pour établir et atteindre les objectifs annuels de sécurité et rapporter la performance ESS quotidienne. Réaliser des Analyses de Sécurité au Travail (JSA), des revues de sécurité, délivrer les permis pertinents (travaux chauds, espaces clos, cadenassage) et s’assurer que les sous‑traitants respectent les normes du site. Diriger les enquêtes d’incidents et assurer la mise en œuvre des mesures correctives. Superviser la sélection, la standardisation et la conformité des Équipements de Protection Individuelle (EPI) selon les normes CSA. Planifier, mettre à jour et coordonner le Plan de mesures d’urgence (PMU), incluant les exercices d’évacuation obligatoires. Diriger l’équipe de Premiers Soins et agir comme liaison avec les services d’urgence locaux. Relations syndicales et collaboration interne Travailler avec le Comité de Santé et Sécurité pour mettre en œuvre des actions correctives en réponse aux préoccupations des employés syndiqués et non syndiqués. Gérer le comité paritaire ESS et participer activement aux rencontres syndicat‑employeur sur les enjeux SST. Collaborer avec les Ressources Humaines pour gérer le programme d’indemnisation des travailleurs (CNESST) et les dossiers de retour au travail. Participer à la prévention de la violence et du harcèlement en milieu de travail, en collaboration avec RH. Leadership stratégique et amélioration continue Présenter les indicateurs ESS au comité de direction et influencer les décisions opérationnelles en intégrant la perspective ESS. Planifier et diriger des audits internes ESS et coordonner les audits externes (corporatifs, CNESST, environnement). Diriger ou soutenir des initiatives Lean / Six Sigma visant l’amélioration continue des processus et la réduction des risques. The individual in this role ensures a safe environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors, while maintaining full compliance with all federal and provincial regulations, including those of CNESST. This role also ensures environmental compliance, hazardous materials management, industrial hygiene, fire safety, and risk management. The EHS Director strategically reduces risks for all stakeholders through a proactive and continuous improvement-driven approach, while fostering a strong and sustainable safety culture. Based on business needs, this role could also be asked to lead major continuous improvement initiatives to support the shop’s operational performance while effectively maintaining the EHS program. Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance and EHS Program Management Collaborate with the corporate EHS department to lead and manage the facility’s EHS program. Maintain a strong floor presence and conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and Howmet policies. Ensure full compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, including prevention programs, site-specific health programs, risk assessments, and safety committee obligations. Operations, Prevention, and Risk Management Work with the Operations Director to establish and achieve annual safety goals and report daily EHS performance. Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA), safety reviews, issue permits (hot work, confined space, lockout/tagout), and ensure contractor compliance.
