Responsibilities Assists and supports projects and operations in the direct procurement process Assists in the preparation of draft project specific Request for Quotations (RFQ) of Engineered to Order packages for equipment suppliers and/or manufacturers; confirms that the process meets GBC contract terms Assists in the prequalification of bidders Assists in the technical bid evaluations Assists in the preparation of purchase recommendations Assists in the preparation of purchase order (PO) content prior to release to purchasing department Assists in the review of the PO prior to release to supplier Monitors order life cycle from submittal approval process to shipment or assignment Engages with vendors on a regular cadence to monitor and report on delivery activities and verify major package receipts Assists in gathering input for the quarterly company market publication Coaches and mentors less experienced team members Supports a positive and inclusive work environment Qualifications EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field 5-7 years of experience in engineering, subcontracting, sourcing, or supply chain Or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Knowledge of subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications Knowledge and understanding of contractual terms, conditions, and risk mitigation Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills Advanced oral communication, written communication, and people skills Ability to execute and collaborate on multiple varied projects at one time, with frequent changing priorities Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team. For Virginia this ranges from $95,000-115,000 plus benefits and retirement program. Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan. We invest in our employees’ education and have built Gilbane University into a top training organization in the construction industry.
