The RECE must ensure the development and safety of children in accordance with relevant federal, provincial, and internal Sagamok Anishnawbek policies. The RECE will be respectful of children and their parents, and develop opportunities that will support the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social needs of children and their families.</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(35, 111, 161); font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold;\">TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</span><br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">1. Hours may vary but shall not exceed 35 hours per week unless prior approval has been authorized to exceed terms and conditions.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">2. Adheres to policies and procedures according to the Sagamok Anishnawbek and Shki Waase-Aaban Binoojiinh Gamik.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">3. Signs and adheres to an Oath of Confidentiality</span><br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">4. Maintain a clear criminal reference check (CPIC) and Vulnerable Sector Clearance</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(35, 111, 161); font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold;\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">     •   Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE/RECE); Must be registered and a member in       good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Classroom Assistant to the Registered Early Childhood Educator.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Up to date immunizations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Understanding and knowledge of the Childcare Early Years Act requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Knowledge of child development theories and practices, emerging trends in early childhood education, determinants of health, and supportive, preventative programming.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to effectively interact and relate to children and their families in a developmentally appropriate manner.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure that children are supervised and safe at all times.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to supervise and lift / carry children when required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Must be sensitive to individual children’s differences and needs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Knowledge of Anishnawbe language and culture will be considered a definite asset.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to engage people to build trust and rapport; effective verbal and listening communication skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Proficiency in Microsoft Office including database applications.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Excellent stress management and time management skills, ability to meet deadlines.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Team building and decision-making skills; ability to problem solve and take initiative.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to work flexible hours, as approved by immediate Manager.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Valid First Aid / CPR Certificate Required / Safe Food Handling certification is an asset.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">A clear Vulnerable Sector Clearance will be a condition of employment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation.</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Qualified candidates are invited to submit their cover letter, resumé, credentials, and <em><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">three work related References (email addresses)</span> </em>through the Online BambooHR process.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(22, 145, 121);\"><em><br></em></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(22, 145, 121);\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 13px; font-weight: bold;\">We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.</span></em></span></p>",
