7th & 8th Grade College & Career Empowerment (CCE) Champion Position Type: Grant Funded Teacher Leadership Role Anticipated # of Positions: 2 Per Campus Stipend: $3,000 per selected teacher for 2026-2027. Distributed as $2,000 paid in December and $1,000 paid in June due to the majority of the work being performed in fall semester. Why This Role Matters The College & Career Empowerment (CCE) Champion will help strengthen and support Grow Public Schools’ college and career readiness and empowerment initiatives for the 2026–2027 school year by building alignment across campuses, middle school grade levels, and existing student opportunities. This role focuses on supporting the development and implementation of a cohesive college and career exploration experiences for students through collaboration with school leadership, counseling teams, and Home Office partners. The CCE Champion will help connect classroom learning to broader college, career, and pathway opportunities while supporting student transition planning, cross-functional programming, and continuous improvement efforts that contribute to a sustainable and student-centered college and career readiness system across the organization. Grow Public Schools is seeking four CCE Champion Teachers to partner with school and Home Office leadership, Counselors, College & Career Success Coaches, and CSUB College Corps Fellows to advance college and career exploration for 7th and 8th grade students. Selected teachers will: collaborate on a scope and sequence for implementing pre-built tangible career skill exploration activities within Arvin and Shafter’s weekly College & Career blocks align these lessons to local high school pathways and California’s 12 Career Ready standards, and champion connections to existing college and career empowerment initiatives. Time Commitment CCE Champions will help build on the foundation for a sustainable college and career readiness system at Grow Public Schools throughout the 2026-2027 school year. The stipend covers about 75 hours across four areas: Summer and Fall Planning: Approximately 56 hours Q1-Q4 Implementation Support: Approximately 6 hours Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Approximately 3 hours Cross-Functional College and Career Opportunities: Approximately 10 hours Curriculum Development and Shared Implementation Design -Partner with relevant CCE team members to develop a shared College & Career Exploration curriculum for 7th and 8th grade students across both Grow Public Schools campuses, using pre-built Paxton/Patterson Career Discovery Lab activities, Xello, and existing projects. -Create a standards-aligned scope and sequence that organizes the career exploration activities above into a cohesive yearlong plan that accounts for curriculum sharing across two-sites, two-grade levels, and two differing college and career blocks. -Align lessons to the California Standards for Career Ready Practice, GPS’s CTEIG pathway areas, other high school CTE pathways, Bakersfield College, CSUB, and workforce needs. -Leverage existing assignments in Xello, and other reflection tools, assessments, and planning resources to help students identify career interests, reflect on their strengths and skills, and connect their learning to future academic and career options. Student Pathway Projects and Transition Planning -Integrate existing grade-level culminating products that serve as end-of-year capstone experiences for College & Career Empowerment. -Support a 7th & 8th grade culminating project or plan that helps students identify career interests, preferred pathways, and areas for continued exploration. College and Career Cross-Functional Collaboration -Serve as a site-based champion for college and career empowerment, helping build a stronger college and career readiness culture and connecting learning beyond the College & Career block, including Xello implementation, work-based learning opportunities, ELOP or intersession enrichment, STEM Night participation, career fairs, guest speakers, and other aligned exposure activities. -Collaborate with Home Office and School Leadership, School Counselors, College & Career Success Coaches, and CSUB College Corps Fellows to align student coaching, pathway planning, and the college and career block. Program Review, Professional Learning, and Continuous Improvement -Partner in quarterly progress meetings to review implementation, troubleshoot barriers, and leverage learning across both school sites, and recommending improvements to the curriculum and program model. -Participate in selected professional development related to CTE implementation or pathway planning such as the annual KCSOS CTE Conference/Summit. Required Qualifications -Demonstrate passion for career and college exposure and how it connects academic learning to lifelong success -Ability to collaborate with Home Office and School Leadership, other CCE Champion Teachers, site counselors, -College & Career Success Coaches, and CSUB College Corps Fellows to bring alignment to GPS College & Career Empowerment -Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit to grow a program through ambiguity -Previous experience leading or developing college and career related activities for middle school students -Be a current Grow Public Schools 7th or 8th grade teacher To Apply: Submit interest via the Bamboo Stipended Position Posting and complete the Google form application by June 14, 2026.
