Description

Description Responsible for the planning and oversight of the subsystems validation team. The team will be responsible for linecard and subsystem product verification inside a customer’s shelf or other system-level configuration. Basic Function of the Job: Responsible for the planning and oversight of the subsystems validation team. The team will be responsible for linecard and subsystem product verification inside a customer’s shelf or other system-level configuration. Team leadership will include organizational planning, hiring, budgeting, and oversight for / execution of platform-based testing methodologies including technical engagements, ensuring customer satisfaction and improving the growth & profitability of the Telecom Transport Subsystems business through adding value-added services in the product validation space. The role will involve substantial interaction with external customers, Development teams (including hardware, software, and optical) Quality, Sales, and product line management. The role will require extensive understanding of high availability telecom hardware and software architectures, software and firmware development principles and the integration of Network SoC chipsets FPGAs and Software/Firmware including architectural design, board bring-up, and implementation. Experience in system testing, including functionality, robustness, and network communications between optical and controller line cards across network enclosures is required. Communication between network elements and line cards via Optical OSC-based protocols, optical controls, Laser Safety etc. is also required. Knowledge of industry standard S/W communication interfaces like gRPC, protobuf, Netconf/Yang Education: • BS in science or engineering field, MS in optics preferred • MBA highly desirable Experience: • 10+ years’ experience in the optics industry • PLM or applications engineering for high-tech products • Solid understanding in Optical Transport Networks • Multidisciplinary background in optical design, development, software • Fiber optic components and test instruments • Customer engagement and support • Test Automation and Execution Special Skills: • Proven ability to drive business strategies to maximize P&L and quality benefit through value added testing services • Capable to manage a high number of product verification / validation / development projects and meet required test coverage and timelines • Ability to oversee and develop test programs to achieve desired test coverage in both hardware and software domains • Develop test capabilities roadmap & customer engagement strategies to grow the business • Interact with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure that products are launched on time and on budget • Demonstrate leadership and the ability to work independently when required • Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross-cultural, global team environment • Be flexible and work efficiently in a global, multi-site, multi-cultural environment • Proficient computer skills, experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, etc • Excellent communication skills, highly proficient in written & oral English Job Competencies: Individual Contributors Adaptability, Customer Focus, Innovation, Planning and Organizing, Problem Solving, Decision Making and Continuous Improvement, Professional and Technical Knowledge and Skills, Reliable and Dependable, Results Oriented, Teamwork and Positive Relationships, Work Standards/Quality/ Details Working Conditions Normal office conditions.
