    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\">The Public Works Department is seeking a Street Maintenance Worker to work as part of a team performing various manual and semiskilled tasks in the installation, maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, curbs, drainage systems and road rights-of-way.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Examples of Duties:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"margin-left: 27.200000000000003px;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assisting with public works installation, maintenance and repair projects such as asphalt and concrete; operating equipment; performing a variety of unskilled and semiskilled work.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist with storm water maintenance repairs.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs a variety of maintenance and repair tasks as a member of a crew.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assists with mowing grass; helps pick up trash and debris; trims trees; installs landscaping.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Operates trucks and related equipment when assigned; operates a variety of hand tools and small equipment in performance of assigned tasks.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assists with snow and ice control and removal.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assists with set-up of proper work zones including putting up barricades, work signs and cones.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Loads and unloads gravel, dirt, stone and other materials.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Cleans equipment; greases machinery and checks fluids.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assists with beautification and landscaping projects.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Moves furniture and records; assists with special events.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs related tasks as required.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Applicants must have:</p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"margin-left: 23.950000000000003px;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Have a high school diploma or equivalent.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">A valid driver&#39;s license and good driving record.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be able to exercise sound decision making, comply with workplace safety regulations, and follow written and oral instructions.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Be able to perform manual labor for extended periods in all weather conditions.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Participation in emergency response activities and support of Town special events is expected.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Environment: Work is performed primarily in an outdoor field environment; travel from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; work in or around water; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain; work at heights, in confined spaces, and below ground level; incumbents may be required to respond to emergency and public calls after hours including evenings and weekends.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to climb unusual heights and descend on ladders; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Additional Information:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The salary range shown is the hiring range.
