    "description": "<p><span>S4 (Systems &amp; System Software Solutions, LLC) has a career opportunity for a Systems Engineer.  </span><span>The candidate <em>MUST</em>  be a U.S. Citizen and have a Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph to </span><span>be considered for the position. S4, LLC is a privately held company working with federal customers since 1998. </span><span>S4 offers a competitive compensation package to include full employee benefits.</span><span> Location of this position is in the Fort Meade, MD vicinity. </span></p>\r\n<p><br></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">This Software Engineer will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"> </span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Qualifications:</span></span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Seven (7) years’ experience as a Software Engineer, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline.  An additional four (4) years of experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Experience working with the customer or stakeholder to define, document, and implement system requirements.</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">The ability to create and execute test cases for peer code testing.</span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<p> </p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Shall possess the following capabilities:</span></span></p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Debug existing software and correct defects.</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.</span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Write or review software and system documentation</span></li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers;
