    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>NPD Product Technical Lead – CAD</strong><br>PacSci EMC – Chandler, AZ&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong><br>The NPD Product Technical Lead (PTL) for the CAD product line is a key first-line technical leadership role within PacSci EMC. This position is responsible for leading and guiding a team of engineers while also directly contributing to hands-on product development efforts. The PTL provides leadership across New Product Development (NPD) activities including engineering execution, design review leadership, customer technical engagement, workload balancing, mentoring, and engineering process discipline.</p><p>This role operates in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment supporting safety-critical aerospace and defense products. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical/ordnance design expertise with customer-facing technical leadership and the ability to manage multiple engineering priorities simultaneously.</p><p>This role reports into NPD Engineering Leadership and directly leads a team of engineers while serving as a primary technical contributor on assigned development programs.<br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Lead and support new product development activities utilizing PacSci EMC APD/NPD processes.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Serve as a first-line technical leader responsible for mentoring, guiding, and developing engineering team members.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Directly contribute to engineering development activities as a hands-on technical lead on assigned projects.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Lead design review preparation and execution activities, ensuring engineering teams are prepared with required analysis, testing, and technical justification.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Own engineering deliverables and execution against allocated engineering hours and program schedules.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Balance engineering workloads, assign tasks, and support execution prioritization across the team.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Interface directly with customers, vendors, testing organizations, and internal stakeholders during technical reviews and development activities.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Support bid and proposal activities, technical reviews, innovation initiatives, and customer relationship development.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Drive engineering excellence, process discipline, and continuous improvement initiatives across the team.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Participate in failure investigations, technical problem-solving, and production support activities as needed.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Promote proactive communication, strong technical rigor, and high-confidence customer engagement.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Conduct daily management activities and communicate engineering execution status as required.<br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong><br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, Master’s degree preferred.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;5+ years of engineering, product development, or technical leadership experience in aerospace, defense, or related industries.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Strong mechanical and/or ordnance design experience required.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience leading product development programs through design review phases including preliminary and critical design reviews.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Demonstrated customer-facing technical leadership experience.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to balance hands-on engineering responsibilities with people leadership responsibilities.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience guiding and mentoring engineering teams in a fast-paced technical environment.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Broad engineering exposure preferred; candidates with overly narrow technical specialization may not be successful in this role.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience with DFMEA/FMECA, reliability/system safety, and failure analysis strongly preferred.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining technical rigor and execution discipline.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience within safety-critical aerospace and defense environments preferred.<br><br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Why Join PacSci EMC NPD?</strong><br>PacSci EMC’s NPD organization offers broad technical exposure, customer engagement, and multiple long-term career growth paths including technical leadership, program management, and technical fellow development tracks.
