    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><link href=\"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/css/froala_editor.pkgd.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"><link href=\"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/css/froala_style.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"><div class=\"fr-view\"><p><strong>CATON CONSTRUCTION GROUP, one of The Caton Companies, is seeking a Bridge Superintendent (HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION) to join our project team. &nbsp;We have multiple projects throughout Virginia and North Carolina.</strong></p><p><strong>Summary</strong></p><p>The Bridge Superintendent will be responsible for the field planning and management process of the bridge related aspects of construction projects including scheduling all bridge, earthwork, roadwork, or other self-performed work and coordinating field crews as well as plan work schedules to control labor, equipment, material costs and subcontractors. The Bridge Superintendent will be responsible for the timely completion of all assigned operations while staying within budget.&nbsp;</p><p>Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Coordinating equipment, crews, and other job-related activities, ensuring work, personnel, and equipment are accurately planned and executed to maximize efficiency - including planning and coordinating foremen responsibilities, scheduling bridge, grading, drainage, paving, structures, and other miscellaneous highway construction crews and subcontractors.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Inspecting all work-in-progress to ensure work conforms to specifications and plans</p><p>&middot; Ensure that ALL resources assigned are maintained, protected, secured and used at optimum efficiency.</p><p>&middot; Review, maintain, and monitor crews&rsquo; productivity and daily goals. Directly overseeing time sheets for labor and equipment, as well as daily reports complete with quantities worked.</p><p>&middot; Conduct daily huddles, stretching exercises, and weekly Toolbox Talk with crews.</p><p>&middot; Develop Daily Hazard Analyses as well as job Activity Hazard Analyses prior to new work activities and review with crews.</p><p>&middot; Identify extra work or change of conditions and report to Project Manager/Project Engineer.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Enforce quality control and Company safety policies on all aspects of construction.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Promoting and adhering to on-the-job training of personnel and corporate safety standards. Take an active role in emphasizing safety, quality and production, leading by example.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Assist with survey and field layout. Assist estimators and engineers during the pursuit of new work.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Develop and maintain client, subcontractor and team member relationships</p><p><strong>Knowledge</strong></p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Working knowledge of bridge construction means and methods including experience with Pile Driving, Concrete Forming, Steel or Concrete Beam Erection, Temporary and Permanent Shoring, Cofferdams, Drilled-shaft Foundations, Bridge Deck Forming, and Concrete Placement.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Understand project budgets and productions to manage personnel and equipment efficiently.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Ability to read and interpret CPM Schedules to plan work, equipment, and manpower needs for assigned projects.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Have a working knowledge of all required plans and specifications.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Knowledge of survey controls, grade checking, and bridge geometry.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Qualifications:</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; 5+ years related experience in field crew management of civil highway bridge construction operations required;</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; 8+ years related experience in major bridge construction, preferred;</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Current OSHA (30 Hour) Certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of employment</p><p>&middot; Excellent organizational and planning, written and verbal communication, and supervisory skills are required.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &middot; Valid Driver License</p><p><strong>Position Type and Expected Hours of Work</strong></p><p>This is a full-time position. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday &ndash; 48 hours, 7:00 a.m. &ndash; 5:30 p.m. Monday &ndash; Thursday, and 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Friday, with time provided for lunch, hours may vary.
