Job Summary Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements | Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data | Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost | Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes | May specialize in one or more of the following areas: benchmarking, business process analysis and reengineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements Impact of the Role General Profile Manages professional employees and/or supervisors Must have at least one professional expert or one supervisor as a direct report Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and department plan; receives guidance from manager Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions Collaborates with functional leadership to identify and select processes or projects for inclusion in the organization's continuous improvement initiative. Manages the work of a team that evaluates existing processes and identifies opportunities for quality or efficiency improvement. Develops and monitors the implementation of process changes meant to result in cost or waste reduction, productivity improvement, customer satisfaction, and profitability increases. Tracks progress against established goals. Recommends changes that may impact floor layout, material flow, or machinery selection and use. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers. Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree Discipline/Major: Business, Engineering, Operations or related field preferred Additional certifications: Lean, Six Sigma, or related certification preferred Knowledge, skills & abilities: Leadership Skills. Problem management. Judgement. Detail oriented. Attentiveness. Project management skills. Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
