Description

Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets are undertaking the design, build, and finance of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package. As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030. The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction. What is the project? A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River). Stations: One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station. Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations. Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown). The benefits to Ontario Faster, more frequent, and reliable access to rapid transit with more than 227,500 people will live within a 10-minute walk of an Ontario Line station. Improve the quality of life for commuters by reducing daily travel time. Reduce crowding on the existing Line 1 (Yonge-University) subway. Up to 57,000 more jobs accessible by transit (in 45 minutes or less) for Toronto residents. Economic and community growth along the future transit line and thousands of job opportunities annually during construction. Reduction in traffic congestion, greenhouse gases, and fuel consumption by providing an alternative transportation option. The Project Coordinator plays a vital support role during construction, ensuring all activities align with safety, quality, and project objectives. Responsibilities include scheduling, procurement coordination, document control, quality assurance, and project reporting.  This is an overnight position working Monday to Friday, 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM (EDT). The salary range for this position is $80,000 CAD - $110,000 CAD, plus additional benefits. Key Responsibilities: Ensure all site activities comply with safety regulations and company policies Coordinate project schedules, resources, equipment, and information. Prepare upcoming works activity in methods, procurement and design. Review construction drawings and specifications, generate procurement list, RFIs, Change Orders, Permitting, traffic and land information, etc. as necessary. Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid project delays Implement quality control ensuring and checking works compliance with technical drawings and specifications. Coordinate, prepare, and compile as-built documentation for quality records. Provide Management with data and project analysis. Provide data and input for month-end reconciliation. Report site work activities, track productivity, costs, and progress on Ontario Line South. Maintain files and correspondence. Liaise with subcontractors, internal departments and stakeholders, as required. A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a civil construction coordination or a similar role. Relevant certifications, such as OSHA safety training, are an asset. Experience reading and understanding construction drawings and documents. Sound computer skills, including MS Excel / Lotus, MS Word. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Self-motivated with good organizational skills. Adaptable to a flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines. Ability to work with others as a team.
