    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p><strong><u>**Starting Rate is based upon years of experience***</u></strong></p><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>General Purpose:&nbsp;</strong>To provide patient care through utilization of the nursing process. &nbsp;The nursing process is demonstrated by the staff registered nurse&rsquo;s ability to work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary health care team in planning, directing, providing and evaluating patient care. &nbsp;The ED RN/Charge Nurse is responsible for providing leadership, positive role modeling and critical thinking skills. The charge nurse provides direct patient care as needed. &nbsp;The charge nurse/RN acts as liaison between all areas: &nbsp; Emergency Room, Acute Care, Swing Bed and Extended Care Services by effectively communicating and problem solving. This position provides leadership and positive role modeling to facilitate staff development and teamwork. &nbsp;The ED RN/Charge Nurse is accountable for completion of all essential shift duties for his/her position as well as those of the staff he/she supervises.</p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Essential Duties/Responsibilities:</strong></p><ol><li>Works with acutely ill patients, including emergency situations</li><li>Responds to other departments requesting emergency assistance and assigns staff accordingly during emergencies</li><li>Works with swing bed patients, both skilled nursing and extended care</li><li>Works independently as well as functioning as a team member</li><li>Maintains an organized and timely change-of-shift report that enables all oncoming staff to hear report on all patients in the facility. &nbsp;</li><li>Capable of adapting to changing environment while maintaining professionalism&nbsp;</li><li>Nursing Process &ndash; Assess patient needs, Identify patient problems</li><li>Plans and implements appropriate nursing interventions</li><li>Evaluates patient care outcomes and documents all of the above</li><li>Teaching &ndash; Identifies the learning needs of the patient and/or significant others and initiates measures to meet these needs.</li><li>Leadership &ndash; Provides direction to other members of the nursing team to ensure that patient care is administered in a thorough, safe, and knowledgeable manner.</li><li>Being a positive leader to others while supporting the hospital goals&nbsp;</li><li>Functions in formal leadership positions as assigned to plan, direct, and coordinate unit activities.</li><li>Assists with orientation for nursing students and/or new personnel to provide training and direction. &nbsp; Serves as preceptor in the orientation of new staff (both permanent and contract staff</li><li>Identifies problem areas in nursing unit, such as understaffing, absenteeism and wastefulness, and takes corrective action in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.</li><li>Enforces NCHD policies and departmental rules to maintain the professionalism and good order of the patient care area. &nbsp;Respectfully hold staff accountable for carrying out job responsibilities. &nbsp;</li><li>Fulfills the role of overseeing the delivery of optimal patient care in the absence of the Director of Nursing, maintaining communication with him/her regarding issues impacting patient care. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Attends all mandatory meetings and is a contributor to the Service Excellence initiative.</li><li>Attends trainings with our educational trainer (Mike Simoneaux) to keep up to date on skills and use of equipment.&nbsp;</li></ol><p><strong id=\"isPasted\">Supervisory Duties:&nbsp;</strong>LPN&rsquo;s, CNA&rsquo;s/ED Tech, Nursing Students, et</p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>Education or Formal Training</u></strong><u>:</u></p><ul><li>Must be a graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing</li><li>Current licensure of Registered Nurse in the State of Wyoming</li><li>Must maintain current ACLS, PALS, BLS, &amp; TNCC certifications at all times</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>PRN: NCHD upholds a PRN policy which allows to a pay differential for our PRN employees.
