POSITION TITLE: Environmental Services Technician POSITION LOCATION: Peoria Service Center, 507 E Armstrong Ave, Peoria, IL 61603 POSITION STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly; Part time (25 hours per week) POSITION SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 12:00pm – 5:00pm Make a difference by helping create spaces where care happens. The Environmental Services Technician plays an important role in maintaining our clinics so that staff, clients, and visitors can focus on what matters most. This position is not client-facing, but it is essential to the daily operations of our programs and the quality of care we provide. Job Description Position Objective: The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for supporting a clean, organized, and safe environment across all facilities, contributing to the overall well-being and safety of clients, visitors, and staff. Job Functions: Daily Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain therapy rooms, client kitchen areas, bathrooms, and other assigned spaces, ensuring infection control and safety by organizing equipment and resources. Bio-hazardous Material Management: Collect, transport, and dispose of bio-hazardous materials following safety protocols. Supply and Inventory Management: Stock and organize cleaning supplies, first aid kits, evaluation, and testing materials. Maintain cleaning schedules and food storage protocol binders. Assist with supply ordering and pick-up. Safety and Compliance: Identify and report safety hazards to the supervisor. Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards. Marginal Responsibilities: Develop visuals and home programs and perform lamination tasks as requested. Perform deep cleaning and routine maintenance as requested. Other duties as assigned. Education/Experience Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year of environmental services, housekeeping, janitorial, or related experience. Previous experience in an office or healthcare environment, preferred. Competency Requirements Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment and adapt to changing routines based on client needs. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines. Ability to maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Proficient in using personal computers and software (MS Office Suite). Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have visual ability sufficient to read and complete written correspondence, reports, etc., and computer screen information. Frequent use of hands to grasp, handle, or feel. Regular standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. Ability to lift and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds. Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English. Ability to drive to all Easterseals centers and service sites within a 100-mile radius, as needed. Work Environment Routinely works in office environments with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Compensation and Benefits: Expected pay for this position is $15/hour.
