The position will assist with sample collection of diverse materials including, but not limited to, soil, sediment, water, and air for environmental tests; conduct water quality sampling for discharge permit compliance and environmental remediation projects, provide neat, accurate, and comprehensive documentation of all field-related activities to senior level project personnel; and provide additional field and office support to project managers for a diverse private and public sector client base. The role requires the ability to comprehend project plans and specifications and a strong willingness to perform fieldwork and travel for extensive periods of time, including the possibility of overnights, weekends, and holidays. We offer <u>competitive pay and benefits, and well-being programs</u> to support you and your family.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>To Learn More Visit: http://www.geosyntec.com/careers/</p>\n<h2>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Collect samples and perform field tests on process water, surface water, and groundwater samples primarily associated with industrial treatment processes, groundwater remediation systems, or environmental due diligence activities;</li>\n <li>Monitor activities on job sites to assure compliance with relevant contract documents (e.g. technical specifications, sampling plans, work plans, Quality Assurance (QA) Plans, etc.);</li>\n <li>Prepare daily and weekly field reports, construction schedules & progress reports;</li>\n <li>Prepare water quality data summaries and reports and communicate with client representatives in a timely manner;</li>\n <li>Assure project documentation is correct and consistent with client contract requirements, company policy & procedures;</li>\n <li>Interact with project personnel (contractors, project managers, engineers & clients) and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open lines of communications and participation in work progress meetings;</li>\n <li>Assist in the preparation of the final reports, work plans, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices;</li>\n <li>Observe and abide by the policies and procedures outlined in the site-specific project health and safety plans and the company’s Environmental Health and Safety Management policies and procedures; </li>\n <li>Perform tasks in other company practice areas including general inspection services, environmental sampling, contractor oversight, or water treatment quality assurance activities, as needed.</li>\n <li>Be available for weekend or overnight shifts as required. Although not common, overnight shifts may be required for periods that last for multiple weeks.</li>\n <li>Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education and Licensure</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of four (4) years of applicable experience, an associate degree or college diploma and a minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience, or a bachelor’s degree in geology, engineering, physical science, environmental science, or related subjects. (required) </li>\n <li>Experience ensuring field activities comply with QA plans and specifications and the ability to monitor several different types of activities simultaneously. (required)</li>\n <li>Experience with the operation of industry-typical monitoring and data collection equipment, including but not limited laptop and handheld computers, water quality meters, water level meters, and other equipment. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Experience with multi-media sampling including soil, water, and air. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Practical field experience conducting operation and maintenance of mechanical systems including simple troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems. (preferred)</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365: Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs. (required)</li>\n <li>Strong mathematical background with the ability to perform basic calculations in science and engineering applications. (required)</li>\n <li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic. (required) </li>\n <li>Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50-100 pounds with assistance and/or proper engineering controls. (required)</li>\n <li>Ability to speak and hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. (required)</li>\n <li>Perform regular field work duties outdoors in varied weather conditions and overnight travel. (required)</li>\n <li>Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)</li>\n <li>Valid U.S. driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation, for business travel.
