Meritus provides critical infrastructure protection, security services, and operational support to federal agencies throughout the United States.</p><p>Meritus is committed to supporting national security missions by delivering highly trained personnel and operational excellence to government partners.</p><hr><h1>Position Summary</h1><p>Meritus Solutions Group is seeking a professional Armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) to support federal facilities and personnel in Presque Isle, Maine.</p><p>This position is ideal for retired military personnel, law enforcement professionals, or experienced security officers seeking part-time employment with a predictable weekday schedule.</p><p>Protective Security Officers are responsible for protecting federal facilities, personnel, visitors, and government property through access control, security monitoring, patrol operations, emergency response, and force protection activities.</p><hr><h1>Work Schedule</h1><p>This is a part-time position.</p><p>Typical schedule includes:</p><ul><li><p>Monday through Friday</p></li><li><p>8:45 AM &ndash; 12:45 PM and/or</p></li><li><p>12:15 PM &ndash; 4:15 PM</p></li></ul><p>Schedules may vary based on contract requirements, site needs, and shift assignments.</p><hr><h1>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</h1><p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p><ul><li><p>Provide armed security services at designated federal facilities</p></li><li><p>Control access to federal buildings and restricted areas</p></li><li><p>Monitor security systems and conduct security inspections</p></li><li><p>Protect personnel, visitors, equipment, and government property</p></li><li><p>Conduct patrols and perimeter security checks</p></li><li><p>Respond appropriately to emergencies and security incidents</p></li><li><p>Prepare accurate incident reports and daily activity logs</p></li><li><p>Maintain compliance with federal, contract, and company requirements</p></li><li><p>Communicate professionally with government personnel, visitors, and the public</p></li><li><p>Perform additional security-related duties as assigned</p></li></ul><hr><h1>Minimum Qualifications</h1><p>Applicants must:</p><ul><li><p>Be a U.S. Citizen</p></li><li><p>Be at least 21 years of age</p></li><li><p>Possess a High School Diploma or GED</p></li><li><p>Have a minimum of:</p><ul><li><p>Two (2) years of security experience, OR</p></li><li><p>Prior military experience, OR</p></li><li><p>Prior law enforcement experience</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Successfully pass:</p><ul><li><p>Federal background investigation</p></li><li><p>Medical evaluation</p></li><li><p>Drug screening</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Be able to obtain and maintain required government clearances</p></li><li><p>Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently</p></li><li><p>Be capable of preparing clear and accurate written reports</p></li></ul><hr><h1>Training Requirements</h1><p>Selected candidates will attend required new-hire training in Massachusetts.</p><p>Training includes:</p><ul><li><p>Approximately 12 days of paid training</p></li><li><p>Company-paid hotel accommodations</p></li><li><p>Security certification training</p></li><li><p>Contract-specific operational training</p></li></ul><p>All required training must be successfully completed prior to assignment.</p><hr><h1>Required Certifications &amp;
