Description
The Bosch Group operates in most countries in the world. With over 400,000 associates, a career at Bosch offers a chance to grow an exceptional career in an environment that values diversity, initiative, and a drive for results.
If you are interested in working on the cutting-edge of technology, working at Bosch is the place for you! Bosch is expanding its semiconductor business with silicon carbide chips in the U.S. and plans to invest some $1.9 billion in the Roseville site in California in the coming years. The first SiC semiconductors will be produced here on 200-millimeter wafers as of 2026.
We are committed to quality at Bosch. Our environment celebrates diversity and promotes career progression. We seek highly-skilled, creative, results-oriented people who can look at technology from a new perspective and provide surprising insight. We are looking for candidates who want to shape and drive innovation at Bosch.
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with specialized expertise in commissioning, project execution and operational readiness within a high-demand semiconductor manufacturing environment. This critical role ensures the seamless integration of new and upgraded electrical systems - from design validation through energization - while maintaining uninterrupted fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with medium-voltage electrical systems up to 12,000 V and a proven track record of executing complex projects safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Commissioning & Startup Leadership: Lead commissioning for facility upgrades, expansions and new tool installations. Develop commissioning plans and validation protocols for performance, functionality and compliance with design and operational requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure timely energization and successful system handoff.
Project Execution & Documentation: Author, review and approve electrical project scopes of work (SOWs) and switching/LOTO schedules for outages, tie-ins and energizations. Create and maintain SOPs, maintenance procedures and emergency response plans aligned with industry best practices. Manage electrical change orders, submittals and RFIs during project execution.
Facility Upgrades & Tool Installation: Provide electrical engineering support across the project lifecycle, including new fab construction, expansions and tool installations. Ensure designs comply with NEC, SEMI standards, corporate specifications and power quality requirements for sensitive equipment. Validate voltage, current, grounding and harmonic performance for new tool hook-ups.
Power System Reliability & Safety: Apply load-shedding and restoration strategies to minimize risk during planned outages and unplanned events. Champion electrical safety, particularly during medium-voltage (up to 12 kV) energization and maintenance. Maintain compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA and NFPA 70B standards. Ability to read single-line drawings. Develop and implement robust LOTO procedures for complex multi-sourced and medium-voltage systems. Maintain accurate as-built documentation and participate in electrical incident.
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Will consider Associate's degree. 4+ years of electrical engineering experience, construction support, and operational troubleshooting. Proficient in power distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs and backup/emergency power systems. Experience with low and medium-voltage systems up to 12,000 V is required. Good knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NETA. Skilled in Revit and CAD drafting platforms (e.g. AutoCAD). Preferred Qualifications
BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems or controls. Control systems troubleshooting and commissioning experience. Experience performing power systems studies, including protective device coordination, arc flash analysis, short circuit calculations and cable schedules. Background supporting electrical systems in high-reliability environments, such as semiconductor, pharmaceutical or data center facilities.
