This role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing and oil-burning systems in one of the most challenging and rewarding environments in the Arctic. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, adaptable, and experienced in working in remote or extreme climates.</p><p>Working on a rotation of 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off, 10-hour shifts per day, with travel paid The wage starts at $55/hour.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including potable water, sewage, and heating systems.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues with water lines, drainage systems, and plumbing fixtures.</li><li>Ensure compliance with relevant plumbing codes and standards.</li><li>Install, service, and repair oil-burning heating systems, including furnaces, boilers, and auxiliary equipment.</li><li>Perform inspections, adjustments, and diagnostics to optimize system performance.</li><li>Safely handle and dispose of oil and related materials according to environmental and safety guidelines.</li><li>Conduct routine inspections of systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.</li><li>Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and installations.</li><li>Adhere to workplace safety protocols and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Participate in safety meetings, emergency response drills, and training.</li><li>Support the implementation of the organization’s safety management systems.</li><li>Work closely with other trades, including electricians, HVAC technicians, and construction staff.</li><li>Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients to complete projects on schedule.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Must have Red Seal Journeyperson Certification in Plumbing and Certification in Oil Burner Mechanic (OBM) (Dual Ticket).</li><li>Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.</li><li>Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driver's record/abstract.</li><li>Must be able to pass a Drug &amp; Alcohol test, Fit to Work test, and extensive background check.</li><li>Must be able to obtain a</li><li>Proficiency with troubleshooting and maintaining both plumbing and oil heating systems.</li><li>Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to challenging environments.</li><li>Familiarity with health and safety regulations, particularly in northern or industrial settings.</li><li>Comfortable working in remote and extreme weather conditions.</li><li>Availability to work rotational shifts, including extended hours if necessary.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>We would like to thank everyone for their application; however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.</p><p>This position has been identified as safety sensitive and will require completion and successful passing of a pre-employment alcohol &amp; drug test, fit to work medical test, and criminal record check.
