    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Nemours is seeking a <strong>Community Outreach Specialist</strong> to join our Nemours Children’s Health team in Jacksonville, FL. &nbsp;This is a one year, grant-funded position. &nbsp;The position is 40 hours per week, however, benefits are not offered.</p><p><br>The Community Outreach Specialist’s primary function is to recruit volunteers to participate in the Lung Health Cohort study sponsored by the American Lung Association and the National Institutes of Health. The position will work in partnership with Jacksonville community organizations to build relationships with community members in effort to engage volunteers to participate in the Lung Health Cohort study. &nbsp;Duties includes attending community meetings, networking with community organizations, attending community events, distributing flyers, brochures, or other informational or educational documents to inform members of the Lung Health Cohort study to targeted communities.</p><p>Fast paced environment with hard deadlines. The right candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently with a high level of detail orientation,</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p><strong>-</strong>Minimum one year of patient recruitment or community outreach experience is required; three+ years is preferred</p><p>-High School Diploma or equivalent required<br>-Strong problem solving and analytical skills&nbsp;<br>-Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) Knowledge of virtual platforms</p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Recruit participants for the Lung Health Cohort study.<br>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maintain participant records in accordance with program and funding source requirements.</p><p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Develop a weekly calendar of outreach activities and locations.<br>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Conduct formal presentations in the community.<br>5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maintain confidentiality of participants.<br>6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Participate in trainings, meetings, workshops, conferences, webinars, and conference calls as necessary.<br>7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Collect data to focus on events and venues that may be helpful to the program.<br>8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Identify and develop relationships with key community partners.<br>9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Community engagement, outreach and/or events planning.<br>10.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ad hoc duties to assist the American Lung Association Airways Clinical Research Centers Team – including but not limited to recruitment, American Lung Association events, Nemours/UF events, etc.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>",
