Responsibilities The Director of Quality and Risk Management is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for leading the organization’s quality improvement, risk management, and accreditation efforts to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care. This leadership role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of clinical and operational quality standards, with a strong focus on performance accountability, service excellence, and continuous quality improvement. The Director will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including those set by The Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, and other accrediting bodies. As an RN, the Director of Quality and Risk Management combines clinical expertise with strategic leadership to foster a culture of patient safety and service excellence. This position works closely with multidisciplinary teams, department leaders, and senior management to mitigate risks, enhance patient outcomes, and maintain accreditation readiness. By driving performance improvement initiatives, facilitating staff education, and conducting rigorous risk assessments, the Director will ensure the organization’s commitment to delivering the highest standard of care while meeting all regulatory and accreditation standards. Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required. 2. Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, or a related field required. 3. State RN licensure or a License in healthcare field required. 4. Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3-5 years in a quality management, risk management, or leadership role. 5. Proven experience with accreditation processes (TJC, CMS, etc.) and regulatory compliance. 6. In-depth experience with risk assessment, incident reporting, and quality improvement strategies. 7. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with staff at all levels. 8. Expertise in quality management systems, risk management strategies, and accreditation survey processes. 9. Proficiency in data analysis, using metrics and performance tools to drive improvement. 10. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking abilities. 11. Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including CMS, HIPAA, and state-specific requirements. 12.
