The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for working together with the operating crew to minimize downtime and to maximize productivity and making the basic decisions on how a mechanical repair is to proceed. They will perform quality repairs the first time, leading the completion of more complicated and specialized mechanical and fluids repair tasks. It is expected the Maintenance Tech will be competent in performing equipment repairs to varied mechanical and fluids systems including changing problem components and performing preventive maintenance on these systems. This role will sit in Wieland's <strong>East Alton, IL</strong> facility. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Starting Pay: $42.87 </p>\n<p>Schedule: Rotating/Swinging</p>\n<p>Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At Wieland, we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be based upon various factors unique to each individual that may include but are not limited to years of eperience, industry knowledge, technical skills, education, qualifications, etc. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Maintenance Technician </strong><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work in alignment with Wieland’s core values and abide by the 8 Golden Rules of Safety. </li>\n <li>Collaborate with the operations department for constant improvement. </li>\n <li>Work with team members to achieve department goals.</li>\n <li>Perform administrative duties as assigned, including completion of work order documentation and data entry into the computerized maintenance system.</li>\n <li>Adhere to Wieland and OSHA safety procedures and job-specific safety practices, report issues to the Supervisor, Safety, or HR.</li>\n <li>Follow daily procedures, work instructions, control plans, and protocols outlined during orientations and training.</li>\n <li>Attend meetings and refresher courses to maintain and develop skills</li>\n <li>Perform general laborer tasks as required.</li>\n <li>Maintain daily housekeeping of the work area.</li>\n <li>Carry out additional duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Maintenance Technician Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of five years’ heavy industrial/maintenance experience or an apprenticeship certification required.</li>\n <li>Experience with mounting and setting equipment (rigging experience desired), repairing mechanical transmission equipment, repairing fluid power systems, general equipment breakdown maintenance, and heavy equipment experience is required. </li>\n <li>Experience with large drive train systems including gearboxes, drive spindles, and sleeve bearings is required.</li>\n <li>Adherence to health and safety regulations, including consistent use of protective gear.</li>\n <li>Capability to stand, balance, walk, and reach for extended periods.</li>\n <li>Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, twist, or crouch.</li>\n <li>Ability to climb stairs and ladders to and from work areas.</li>\n <li>Dependable and consistent attendance.</li>\n <li>Availability to work mandatory OT. </li>\n <li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.</li>\n <li>Manual dexterity for handling and manipulating items, samples, and tools.</li>\n <li><p>Provide and maintain a personal set of tools necessary to perform daily job responsibilities.</p></li>\n <li>Strong judgment and ability to ask questions when needed.</li>\n <li>Attention to detail and consistent alertness to ensure safety.</li>\n <li>Prioritization of safety in all tasks.</li>\n <li>Vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.</li>\n <li>Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.</li>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Must be at least 18 years of age.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Maintenance Technician Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Millwright experience is a plus.</li>\n <li>Experience operating manual conventional lathes, boring mills, conventional mills, and all related machine shop equipment is a plus.</li>\n <li>Experience with fabricating of light gauge guarding and repair of metal products using Mig Welders, Tig Welders, Arc Welding, or Stick Welding is a Plus</li>\n <li>CNC machining skills are a plus.</li>\n <li>Understanding of infrared, acoustics and other predictive maintenance practices is considered a plus.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Joining Wieland’s team gives you…</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Benefits</strong> - <strong> </strong>Including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life & more!</li>\n <li><strong>Retirement Savings</strong> - 401(k) contribution + match.</li>\n <li><strong>Work/Life Balance</strong> - Paid Vacation & Holidays.</li>\n <li><strong>Growth Opportunities</strong> - We have over 8,000+ employees worldwide and 35+ locations in North America alone.
