POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Cage Cashier
Department: Finance/Cage
Reports to: Cage Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
The team member in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests. The Cage Cashier is also responsible for distributing monies to gaming guest via check cashing, cash advance, TITO tickets, coupons, chips, winner vouchers and tournament buy in’s and pay outs.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following statements are intended as general examples of the duties of this position and are not all-inclusive for specific positions. Other reasonable duties may be assigned.
1. Interact with all guests and team members to positively influence the guest and team member experience. Demonstrate resiliency when faced with difficult situations under all types of business conditions. Work effectively and courteously with fellow team members.
2. Safeguard company assets and adheres to all Cage and Company policies and procedures.
3. Maintains and is held accountable for all funds entrusted to them on an assigned shift.
4. Provides prompt, friendly and courteous service to all guest in a confidential manner.
5. Balances all money transactions and paperwork.
6. Creates teamwork by helping co-workers with essential functions.
7. Acts as a role model; presenting oneself as a credit to Isle Casino Cape Girardeau and encouraging others to do the same.
8. Adhere to regulatory, departmental and Company policies in an ethical manner and require others to do the same.
9. Handle routine customer complaints and incidents, and exhibit the appropriate discretion to define situations requiring the attention of supervisory personnel. Seek to resolve all situations in a manner that maintains positive guest relationships.
10. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by business operations, including nights, weekends and holidays; shifts may change based on business needs.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical/mental demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to stand up to 8 hours; walk; use hands to type on the key board and to count money; reach with arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Mental Demands:
• Must be able to add and multiply in head; count currency to their self, then while fanning the currency count out loud to the guest.
• Must be able to multi-task
• Must be able to complete tasks in an interruptive environment under time pressures;
Work Environment:
• Must be able to work in a smoking environment with loud noise.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Education:
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred; previous cashiering or banking experience preferred and/or two years in the Casino Industry.
Knowledge:
• Must be able to use a computer, telephone, 10 key calculator, and complete forms; have basic mathematical skills.
Other:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Level 2 Missouri Gaming License.
• Must be able to receive and maintain all required certification relating to the position.
• Must complete all required company training.
