You will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts, leverage the latest technologies, and contribute to shaping the future of third party risk management!\n\n \n Position Overview: \n\nWe are seeking a Staff Software Engineer – Integration & Platform (Java/Spring) to serve as a technical anchor for our Integration & Platform team. This individual will lead the architecture and evolution of critical backend services, define and uphold engineering standards, and drive the modernization of our Java/Spring Boot ecosystem toward cloud native and AI enabled workflows.\n\nThe ideal candidate brings deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and API/integration design, along with strong leadership capabilities. They will possess exceptional communication and problem solving skills and thrive in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment while influencing technical direction without direct authority.\n\n Key Responsibilities: \n\n Platform Architecture & Engineering Leadership \n\n Own, design, and evolve distributed backend services using Java and Spring Boot\n Architect systems for scalability, reliability, performance, and observability\n Drive and document architectural decisions through ADRs, RFCs, and other technical artifacts\n Establish and enforce engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices\n\n Cloud & Infrastructure Leadership \n\n Define and implement cloud native architecture patterns across environments\n Lead adoption and optimization of:\n\n Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK)\n Containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes)\n Service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)\n\n Optimize systems for resilience, cost efficiency, and operational excellence\n\n Integration & API Platform Development \n\n Design, build, and scale multi tenant RESTful APIs and integration services\n Lead modernization initiatives, including legacy SOAP to REST migrations\n Define, standardize, and enforce API governance and best practices\n Architect and implement integration patterns including:\n\n Webhooks\n Event driven systems (Kafka, Kinesis)\n External system connectivity frameworks\n\n MCP & AI Integration (Emerging Capabilities) \n\n Design and implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) server/client patterns\n Enable secure interactions between LLM agents and internal systems, databases, and tools\n Ensure AI integrations are safe, observable, governed, and scalable\n Contribute to evolving AI driven platform capabilities\n\n Engineering Excellence & Quality \n\n Elevate standards for code quality, peer reviews, and maintainability\n Define and promote robust testing strategies (unit, integration, performance)\n Improve observability, monitoring, and on call practices\n Mentor senior engineers and provide technical leadership across teams\n\n Cross Functional Collaboration \n\n Partner closely with Product, Infrastructure, and Integration teams\n Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear technical solutions and roadmaps\n Communicate technical trade offs effectively to both technical and non technical stakeholders\n Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and planning processes\n\n Requirements\n\n Qualifications: \n\n Core Java & Spring Expertise \n\n 8+ years of hands on Java development in production environments\n Deep expertise with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud ecosystems\n Strong understanding of JVM internals, performance tuning, concurrency, and multithreading\n\n Cloud Platform & DevOps \n\n Hands on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure\n Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments\n Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CDK)\n Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines at scale\n Familiarity with service mesh architectures\n\n Architecture & Distributed Systems \n\n Proven experience designing and scaling distributed systems\n Strong understanding of event driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis)\n Expertise in API design (REST, GraphQL, and legacy SOAP systems)\n Solid data modeling experience (SQL and NoSQL databases)\n Strong foundation in security principles (authentication, authorization, secrets management)\n\n Observability & Reliability \n\n Experience with distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry)\n Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)\n Experience defining and managing SLOs/SLAs\n Participation in incident response and postmortem processes\n\n MCP & AI Tooling Exposure \n\n Experience or exposure to Model Context Protocol (MCP)\n Familiarity with LLM integrations, agent workflows, and AI enabled systems\n Understanding of secure design principles for AI interactions\n\n Leadership \n\n Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction without direct authority\n Strong mentorship, coaching, and team development skills\n Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast paced environments\n\n Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Soft Skills: \n\n Experience leading large scale platform modernization initiatives\n Strong documentation practices and technical writing skills\n Passion for emerging technologies, particularly AI driven development patterns\n Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management abilities\n Continuous learner with a growth mindset and a bias toward innovation\n\n Why Join Us: \n\nAt Aravo Solutions, Inc., we offer a dynamic and inclusive work environment where employees are encouraged to innovate, grow, and make a meaningful impact.
