    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">JOB TITLE:</span> Instructional Designer – Part Time Temporary</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PRIORITY DEADLINE:</span> March 27, 2026</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">CLASSIFICATION:</span> Part-Time, Temporary</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">DIVISION:</span> Academics</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">DEPARTMENT:</span> <span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Dual Enrollment &amp; Instructional Design</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">REPORTS TO:</span> Director of Dual Enrollment</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SUPERVISES:</span> Not Applicable</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or related field</li>\n<li>Advanced knowledge in applying common instructional design principles and best practices</li>\n<li>Experience designing course materials and operating learning management systems (LMS)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least two years of relevant professional experience/instructional design experience</li>\n<li>Proficiency with Microsoft 365</li>\n<li>Experience as an administrator of a LMS, such as Brightspace/Desire2Learn</li>\n<li>Understanding of website design best practices</li>\n<li>Proficiency in graphic design software (Adobe, Canva, etc.)</li>\n<li>Excellent project management and organizational skills</li>\n<li>Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues</li>\n<li>Experience teaching others and developing learning materials concerning the use of hardware and software applications</li>\n<li>Knowledge of educational assessment and evaluation methods</li>\n<li>Experience with conducting course reviews via an industry recognized rubric, and communicating results and recommendations</li>\n<li>Excellent customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision</li>\n<li>Highly attentive to detail and accuracy</li>\n<li>Excellent critical thinking skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">POSITION SUMMARY: </span> </p>\n<p>This position is responsible for working with Subject Matter Experts (instructors and others) to assist with the development and review of high-quality courses for Academic and Workforce Development in the Learning Management System, Desire2Learn. This may include assisting in the development and delivery of self-paced learning modules, standard content, videos, webinars, and documentation. The Instructional Designer will function as a part of the Academics and Workforce Development teams and work collaboratively across other departments to help effectively deliver distance-learning, synchronous, asynchronous, or correspondence course curricula.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with instructor Subject Matter Experts (SME)s to identify, design, and develop course materials and assets while completing course development projects.</li>\n<li>Aid in preparing proposed and existing courses for design review based on industry standards and the NPRC-approved rubric</li>\n<li>Recommend innovative design, format, and/or technological changes to further engage learners.</li>\n<li>Assist in the development and organization of online lesson materials using faculty content, other instructional content, software applications, and the LMS as directed.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with SMEs on developing engaging content (e.g., video, audio, and/or interactive)</li>\n<li>Adhere to project timelines for instructional design projects</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:</span></p>\n<p>Must be able to obtain the following clearances and training:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>PA Child Abuse History Clearance</li>\n<li>Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History Record Check</li>\n<li>Federal Criminal History Background Check</li>\n<li>Training Certificate - Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</span></p>\n<p>The physical and mental demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
