Our engineers work in a dynamic environment where there are no limits on personal or professional growth.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Shermco Industries is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Studies</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<strong><u>Job Responsibilities and Expectations:</u></strong>Work under a Professional Engineer (PE) to perform electrical engineering studies. We are looking for engineers that are willing to be hands on with our engineering and field service group.\n<ul>\n <li>Job Responsibilities may include:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Provide engineering related design, analysis and studies for domestic and international projects.</li>\n   <li>Perform power factor analysis and correction, harmonic modeling and analysis, and grounding analysis.</li>\n   <li>Conduct short-circuit, protective device coordination and arc-flash studies.</li>\n   <li>Interact with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans.</li>\n   <li>Design and troubleshoot protective relaying and controls.</li>\n   <li>Occasionally work with our Field Services team on shut-down, startup, installation and maintenance projects.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<strong><u>Minimum Qualifications</u></strong>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. </li>\n <li>Willingness to be hands and work in the field alongside our field technicians.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.</li>\n <li>Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods, and effectively communicate directly to customers and co-workers.</li>\n <li>Prefer educational focus in Power Systems studies.</li>\n <li>Prefer candidate who have passed the FE Exam. </li>\n <li>Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus or working towards obtaining.</li>\n <li>Experience performing protective relay projects a plus.</li>\n <li>Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies a plus.</li>\n <li>Experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EasyPower, or other power system modeling software a plus.</li>\n <li>Utility design experience a plus.</li>\n</ul>\n<strong><u>Other Requirements:</u></strong>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests</li>\n <li>Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check</li>\n <li>All offers are conditioned on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening</li>\n <li>Must be available to work overtime and travel out of town periodically</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations</li>\n <li>Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam</li>\n <li>Must have a valid driver’s license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record</li>\n <li>Must be available for periodic domestic travel; international travel a plus and U.S. passport desired</li>\n <li>Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER | DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE</strong></p>\n<p>Shermco is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
