    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong> </strong><strong>     </strong><strong>Purpose of Your Position</strong></p>\n<p>Perform non-instructional classroom duties as assigned by the principal under the general supervision of certified special education teacher.</p>\n<p><strong>     Job Functions</strong></p>\n<p>Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or is an essential function of the position.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Understands and promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure application with organizational policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Assist teacher and classroom staff in maintaining a safe and organized learning environment (keep materials and equipment clean and in working order, set-up materials and have them available for use by students and staff during activities according to the daily lesson plan.</li>\n <li>Assist students in physical care tasks and health related activities including therapeutic feeding, toileting and positioning in adapted equipment.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with classroom team in designing lesson plan activities based on knowledge of children with special needs and child development.</li>\n <li>Assist teacher in maintaining accurate classroom documentation (student attendance and health checks, classroom housekeeping daily checklists, etc.) according to Coleman policy.</li>\n <li>Transport students to and from school; making sure they are seated securely and have all necessary adapted equipment in working order.</li>\n <li>Be aware of classroom activities and location of students at all times; anticipate and respond to individual needs as directed by the teacher.</li>\n <li>Perform other tasks to support the operations of the school as assigned by School Administration.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with children with special needs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Employee Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently</li>\n <li>Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies</li>\n <li>Must meet the general health requirements set fourth by the policies of this School which includes a medical and physical examination</li>\n <li>Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds</li>\n <li>Perform tasks that may involve exposure to the children’s blood/body fluids</li>\n <li>Must be able to assist in the evacuation of children, if necessary</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Will work in a well-lighted and ventilated area</li>\n <li>Will be subject to frequent interruptions</li>\n <li>May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Hourly Rate:</strong></p>\n<p>$22.17/Hr.</p>",
