    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>As a <strong>Cloud Architect</strong>, you will work within our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud migration, cloud optimization, and cloud deployment. We are looking for candidates with 8-10 years of experience with cloud platform services and DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code and confirmation management automation.</p>\n<h2>Contributions</h2>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customer </li>\n <li>Design cloud environments and demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA, and development of cloud infrastructures running in 24×7 environments </li>\n <li>Implement and oversee cloud strategies include migrations and optimization </li>\n <li>Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automation </li>\n <li>Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers </li>\n <li>Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes </li>\n <li>Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results </li>\n <li>Perform root cause analysis on complex business processes and technical components. </li>\n <li>Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats </li>\n <li>Identifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and ‘fixes’ </li>\n <li>Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended </li>\n <li>Support enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD  </li>\n <li>Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations  </li>\n <li>Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems </li>\n <li>Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members </li>\n <li>Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided </li>\n <li>Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other team members. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>  </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance </li>\n <li>BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience </li>\n <li>10+ Years of total experience </li>\n <li>8 Years of Experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions  </li>\n <li>8 Years of Experience with one or more clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP) </li>\n <li>Hands-on experience as a Cloud Architect with expertise in Azure</li>\n <li>8 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket </li>\n <li>8 Years of Experience with systems development in an Agile environment </li>\n <li>8 Years of Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration </li>\n <li>8 Years of Experience integrating deployments with industry standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestration </li>\n <li>5 Years of Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics</li>\n <li>Current Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (AZ-305)</li>\n <li>Must have government contracting experience</li>\n <li>This role may require being onsite in Bethesda one day per week, with occasional additional onsite days depending on meeting schedules and business needs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Local to Washington, DC metro area</li>\n <li>MS Degree in an IT-related field </li>\n <li>Certifications:\n  <ul>\n   <li>AWS Certified DevOps Engineer </li>\n   <li>AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional </li>\n   <li>GCP Professional Cloud Architect </li>\n   <li>Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert </li>\n   <li>SAFe DevOps Certification </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills </li>\n <li>Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations</li>\n <li>Experience with scripting in Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby </li>\n <li>Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes </li>\n <li>Experience with automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible </li>\n</ul>\n<p>  </p>\n<h2>About <strong>steampunk</strong></h2>\n<p>Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000 to $215,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position. Annual salary is just one aspect of Steampunk’s total compensation package for employees.
