Description POSITION SUMMARY At San Pedro Fish Market, our Food Runner is responsible for delivering the correct order to our guests while providing amazing, friendly and professional service. This position requires a positive attitude, a desire to take care of our guests and the ability to work cohesively within a strong team environment. Any member of our crew should enjoy working in a fast-paced restaurant environment with the capacity to take and follow direction and multi-task efficiently. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. 1. Grooming, Dress Code and Work Attitude: • Report to work appropriately dressed and groomed for your position in accordance with the Employee Handbook. Maintain a polished and professional appearance at all times throughout the work shift. • Always present a professional, warm, welcoming and approachable demeanor with a positive attitude towards all throughout the work shift. 2. Work Tasks: • Maintain a working knowledge of all food menu items. • Deliver the correct food from the kitchen to the guest efficiently and with an approachable, upbeat attitude. • Greet guests with professional and friendly hospitality, offering your assistance whenever necessary. • Anticipate the guest’s needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency. • Ensure guests have proper utensils, plates, napkins and condiments. • Assist with clearing and cleaning tables throughout the guest’s visit as well as immediately upon departure. • Adapt to changing guest volume with a sense of urgency. • Ensure service stations are clean, stocked and well organized. • Perform work tasks calmly and effectively under stressful conditions. • Promote an atmosphere of teamwork by assisting co-workers. • Uphold the Company’s service standards and KOF Teamwork Responsibilities. • Perform opening and closing duties, side work and ensure checklists are completed accurately. • Effectively communicate with fellow crew members and the management team. • Follow company policies and procedures. • Maintain a safe working environment for crew and guests. • Comply with all city, state, federal and Company regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety policies and promptly report violations or concerns to the General Manager. 3. Human Resources Administration • Actively engage in TEAM WORK. • Always keep a positive work attitude and friendly (approachable) demeanor while displaying your ability to work well with coworkers. • Clock-in and out for each work day properly. Clock-in upon arrival; Clock-out when leaving for your meal period(s), or other personal time away from work; Clock-in upon return from your meal period(s) or other personal time away from work; and Clock-out when the work day has ended and no more work tasks will be performed. • Take duty-free meal periods and 10-minute breaks in accordance with the Employee Handbook. Immediately notify a manager or HR if you feel you are not able to take a duty-free meal period or 10-minute break for any reason. • Assist in the completion of day-to-day housekeeping, such as cleaning and organizing work areas. • Attend and participate in all mandatory staff meetings. • Recommend process improvements to a manager. • Participate in implementing approved process improvements as requested by management. • Immediately report any concerns or suspicions regarding harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and/or safety concerns in the workplace to any manager, HR, or other senior management.   Other Duties as Assigned by Management If you feel bullied, harassed, or discriminated against by a guest, or group, that is displaying offensive language, behavior, or gestures, you must immediately inform the manager on duty. All concerns are taken seriously with no retaliation. Management will assess the concerns and the apply the remedy deemed most appropriate for your protection, and the best interest of the Company. You are expected to immediately comply with management directives, even if you disagree with them. In those cases, you may speak with any member of the senior management team. Consistently identify and meet and exceed the needs of guests in accordance with Company, city, state and federal guidelines. 2. Properly respond to guest inquiries and concerns. 3. Promptly notify senior management of address advanced inquiries and complaints. 4. Maintain a professional, clean work appearance to promote guest comfort and confidence in San Pedro Fish Market. WORKING CONDITIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. • Normal restaurant work environment; noise level is usually loud. • Some areas of the restaurant are located outside. • The work environment is tight and may require working in close quarters. • Work may involve a moderate level of stress. • Must be able to climb and go down stairs. • Physical demands are present during a full work shift (8+ hours) with the exception of a duty-free meal period and 10-minute breaks to include: Visual and auditory acuity adequate to frequently monitor guest activity, use a computer and other electronic equipment, assess work tasks to be completed and read work-related documents; Standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, sitting; Intermittent overhead and low reaching, grasping objects; and Lifting/carrying 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently and 10 pounds constantly. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or relevant experience. • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred. • Current Food Handler’s Card must be maintained. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with others. • Ability to read, write and comprehend English. • Ability to read, interpret and understand an extensive variety of work-related instructions and documents pertaining to Company operations, safety, finance, HR and payroll. • Ability to effectively collaborate with others to reach common goals. • Ability to use the Company’s timekeeping system and point of service system. • Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and holidays. • Working knowledge of city, state and federal hospitality guidelines.
