We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team. The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education &amp; computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for &ldquo;at-risk&rdquo; youth.</p><p><br></p><p>We are currently seeking a FT Maintenance Worker at the Broward Outreach Centers in Hollywood, FL,<br><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>JOB SUMMARY</u></strong></p><p>The <strong>Maintenance Worker (MW)</strong> reports to the <strong>Maintenance Supervisor</strong> and maintains/repairs physical structures of buildings and grounds. &nbsp; The&nbsp;<strong>MW</strong> is responsible for completing all duties assigned in a timely and safe manner, at the lowest feasible cost. &nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br></p><p><strong><u>CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Performs preventative and routine maintenance and building repairs following OSHA guidelines and building codes as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor</li><li>May lockout or tag out unsafe or broken equipment</li><li>Performs minor repairs to building fixtures, performs minor plumbing repairs, cleans electrical fixtures and replaces bulbs, and performs touch-up painting</li><li>Performs needed carpentry work. &nbsp;Receives work orders and prints or sketches for the job. &nbsp;Estimates material requirements and tools or equipment needed to perform job.</li><li>Sets up and operates wood working tools to cut, form and finish material for the job. Erects or dismantles roofing or siding. &nbsp;Prepares irregular scaffolding that may be required.</li><li>Confers with Maintenance Supervisor at the start of each shift to determine work priorities, supplies required, and tam skills needed. &nbsp;Obtains work assignments from Maintenance Supervisor contacts person requesting repairs and determines type of repairs required.</li><li>Paint interior and exterior walls and trim as directed</li><li>Helps keep tools and equipment oiled and maintained in good working order. &nbsp;Stores tools and equipment in a safe, secure locked area.</li><li>Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with Maintenance Supervisor or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine or equipment.</li><li>Makes preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, reports findings to Maintenance Supervisor and takes appropriate action as assigned. &nbsp; Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.</li><li>Notifies Maintenance Supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and correction action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed</li><li>Assists maintenance Supervisor in maintaining an up-to-date inventory of tools and equipment</li><li>Assists Maintenance Supervisor in conduction routine safety and maintenance checks of all leased and owned facilities</li><li>Assists Maintenance Supervisor in conducting and evaluation long-term needs in relation to major projects and property improvements</li><li>Repairs parking lot and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials and concrete</li><li>Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events</li><li>Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><u>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Must have 3 years of experience in building maintenance, construction, pluming, or carpentry, etc.</li><li>Requires a valid State of Florida driver&rsquo;s license</li><li>Must be able to perform routine building maintenance and make building repairs</li><li>Must be knowledgeable of OSHA regulations and South Florida building codes and have the ability to use hand and mechanical tools</li><li>Must be able to read, write, follow maps and blueprints and be able to carry out oral and written directions in English</li></ul><p><em>&nbsp;</em><strong><u>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to stand, sit, walk, climb and descend ladders and stairs, and have the ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 75lbs</li><li>Must have the ability to climb into overhead structures or step down into holes, to work beneath or above machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work</li><li>Must also be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general public</li><li>Must also be able to move around as needed to perform essential job duties</li></ul><p><strong><u>PERKS AND BENEFITS</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Day off for Birthday/Work Anniversary</li><li>Employee Discounts</li><li>Holidays (12)</li><li>Paid Time Off</li><li>Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, GAP and Health Savings Account)</li><li>Company Paid Life insurance</li><li>403b Retirement Plan with 3% match</li></ul><p>Only qualified candidates will be considered.
