This role is essential in ensuring the safety of guests, staff, merchandise, and property while upholding Hirshleifers&#8217; high standards of customer experience.<br><br><u><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></u></p><ul><li>Monitor public areas, sales floors, entrances, and high&#8209;value sections for unusual activity or potential security threats.</li><li>Oversee and operate security systems including alarms, access controls, and CCTV cameras.</li><li>Maintain constant situational awareness to proactively identify risks or suspicious behavior.</li><li>Identify potential shoplifters, internal theft indicators, or fraudulent behavior among customers or staff.</li><li>Discreetly observe and, when necessary, follow individuals of interest in accordance with store policy and legal guidelines.</li><li>Safely confront and address suspected shoplifters as trained and authorized.</li><li>Work closely with management and local law enforcement when required.</li><li>Accurately document incidents, theft attempts, suspicious activity, and any security violations.</li><li>Prepare detailed written reports of observations while on duty, including timelines and supporting facts.</li><li>Maintain logs of daily activities, equipment checks, and any operational concerns.</li><li>Provide a visible, professional security presence that promotes a safe shopping environment.</li><li>Respond to emergencies&#8212;including medical emergencies, alarms, or building safety issues&#8212;in a calm, efficient manner.</li><li>Support staff with secure opening and closing procedures.</li></ul><br><u><strong>Qualifications:</strong></u><ul><li><strong>3&#8211;4+ years of professional security experience</strong>, preferably in luxury retail, hospitality, or loss prevention.</li><li>Strong observational and interpersonal skills; able to remain composed under pressure.</li><li>Familiarity with CCTV systems, alarm procedures, and retail security protocols.</li><li>Ability to stand or patrol for extended periods.</li><li>Professional demeanor, punctuality, and reliability.</li><li>Valid NYS Security Guard License (required).</li><li>CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.</li><li>Fast&#8209;paced luxury retail setting.</li><li>Requires weekend, evening, and holiday availability.</li><li>Ability to interact with customers, staff, and law enforcement as needed.</li></ul>",
