The Senior Cost Estimator is responsible for preparing and overseeing the preparation of accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for complex electrical infrastructure construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine the cost of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. The Senior Cost Estimator also mentors junior estimators and ensures that all estimates are competitive and align with company standards and client expectations. </p>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Scope Analysis:</strong> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Review and analyze project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Analyze and interpret requests for proposals (RFP), project specifications, and pricing schedules. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Cost Estimation:</strong> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare and oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform material, labor, and equipment take-offs and cost analyses to support estimates. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop, maintain, and oversee the maintenance of cost databases. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare and review pre-approval project estimates based on drawings, narratives, and general scopes of work. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Collaboration and Communication:</strong> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive estimates. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Attend and lead pre-bid meetings, collaborations, and conferences with clients and design professionals. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Define division of responsibilities, draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Work with clients on questions and clarifications post-bid submission. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist project team with questions regarding construction and contractual requirements. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Data Analysis and Improvement:</strong> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Analyze historical data and project performance to improve future estimates. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop weighting criteria for proposal evaluations. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Review estimates with the operations team and executive team. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Compliance and Standards:</strong> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage change orders and cost-to-complete estimates of ongoing projects. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Proposal and Bid Preparation:</strong> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in and lead bid reviews and presentations. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare and submit proposal documents to clients. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide expert judgment of costs to support competitive bid and negotiated contracts. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Mentorship and Leadership:</strong> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Mentor and guide junior estimators.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide training and development opportunities for the estimating team. </li>\n <li>Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division or project management. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Bring</h2>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction cost estimating, with a focus on electrical infrastructure. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Extensive knowledge of industry standards and regulations. </li>\n <li>Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) are a plus. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Get</h2>\n<p><strong>We offer an extremely competitive and comprehensive benefits package including:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>PTO that starts accruing DAY 1</li>\n <li>401K Immediate Vesting; employer match starting same day</li>\n <li>Several medical plan options</li>\n <li>Dental and Vision benefits</li>\n <li>Life insurance, short term & long-term disability</li>\n <li>Paid Holidays</li>\n <li>Employee discounts, EAP and Wellness Program</li>\n <li>Identity Theft Protection and so much more</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#SLC_HP</p>\n<h2>Equal Opportunity Employer</h2>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
