In this job you would maintain all equipment in the laying hen houses. Successful candidates must be able to work in a farm/live animal (dusty) environment. For information on Opal Foods, please visit our website at www.opal-foods.com.</p><p><strong>Position Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Keep equipment running and operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment such as electric motors, pneumatic systems, and conveyor systems.</li><li>Perform preventive and urgent maintenance on production machinery and equipment</li><li>Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments</li><li>Take a proactive approach to issue resolution including root cause analyses and error proofing controls related to down time</li><li>Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform duties</li><li>Detect and report faulty operations, defective material and any unusual situations to the proper supervisor</li><li>Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas</li><li>Assist the Production Team with other projects and duties as needed</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements of a Maintenance Technician:</strong></p><ul><li>Fast paced work environment</li><li>Lift fifty or more pounds on a regular basis</li><li>Bend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climb</li><li>Work in a general farm environment around live animals</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong> (knowledge, experience, skills, education)</p><ul><li>Mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills</li><li>Previous experience troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairing industrial processing equipment</li><li>Organized and detail oriented</li><li>Able and willing to work off schedule shifts and/or nights when necessary</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>3 years of experience in maintenance related roles</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits:</strong> Opal Foods, LLC offers a comprehensive benefits package.
