Description

Description Who We’re Looking For CREtelligent is hiring an Environmental Project Director (EPD) to serve as a senior technical reviewer and signing Environmental Professional (EP) for Phase I ESAs across our national commercial real estate portfolio. You will own the quality and defensibility of our deliverables — reviewing reports, providing final EP opinions, and partnering with clients on complex transactions. You'll work alongside a tight-knit EP team — reviewing reports, signing off on EP opinions, and engaging directly with clients on the calls and questions that move transactions forward. CREtelligent pairs advanced data and analytics with best-in-class review practices, so you spend your time on the technical judgment that matters rather than chasing down records. You'll review a high volume of Phase I ESAs each year across a national commercial real estate portfolio — a steady, high-quality deal flow that lets you build deep pattern recognition across markets, asset types, and lender scopes. How You’ll Make an Impact Serve as the senior reviewer and signing EP for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs); dual-scope candidates will also review Property Condition Assessments (PCAs). This is a predominantly desk-based review role — fully remote, with only occasional site visits in your local market when a project calls for it. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in both internal team collaboration and client-facing interactions. Apply deep expertise in commercial real estate due diligence to: Synthesizing diverse data sets to develop comprehensive client deliverables. Providing final conclusions and professional opinions as the designated Environmental Professional (EP). Operating independently with strong initiative and the ability to manage multiple, deadline-driven projects simultaneously. Serving as a key contributor within the environmental team, with the capability to immediately step into project management responsibilities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field OR equivalent experience. Minimum of 5+ years of experience conducting Phase I ESAs within the commercial real estate due diligence industry. Proven ability to communicate directly with clients. Experience reviewing PCAs is a plus (dual-scope candidates). Qualifies as an Environmental Professional under 40 CFR 312.10 (the federal standard for signing ASTM E1527 Phase I ESAs). Professional licensure such as Professional Geologist (PG) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred. Familiarity with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, SBA, and HUD ESA standards is preferred, but not required. Experience writing reports in Quire/Parcel (or comparable ESA reporting platforms) is a plus. Strong skills in analyzing and interpreting environmental field and laboratory data. Proven experience in technical report writing with attention to detail and regulatory compliance. A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to the growth of a dynamic, professional environmental team. Benefits We pair hard work with a healthy balance, a strong team, and the benefits you'd expect — plus a few you wouldn't. HEALTH AND WELLNESS What’s important to you and your family is important to us. We offer comprehensive extended health care coverage - medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, medical transportation plan, critical illness insurance, pet insurance, and more. We offer 401k and Roth Retirement Plans with employer contribution – when we profit you do too! Wellness benefits and stipends to support your physical and mental health. FLEXIBLE TIME OFF Take time as you need it, your position is part of our professional paid time off plan with no tracking and no accruals, very simply put – work hard play hard. COMPENSATION Annual base salary of $80,000 - $135,000. Salary range may vary based on location. FUN Remote or in-office, you'll plug into team events, monthly celebrations, Lunch and Learns, and our company traditions — with branded swag to start. FLEXIBILITY Having the ability to adjust your work schedule to meet both the needs of your team and those of your personal life is just as important to us as it is to you. This means some days you’ll be in the office, and some days you’ll be out in the field; however, we get you have a family and life where you’ll need some flexibility, and you’ll have that with us. In short, we hire you as a professional and we’ll treat you like one. FAMILY We believe in supporting strong family units from day one this starts with supporting parents with paid maternity and paternity leave. As the primary caregiver to a newborn, we provide 12 weeks paid leave + another 4 weeks of part-time paid transition time to support your return. As the supporting caregiver, we provide 6 weeks of paid leave. As part of the CREtelligent team, your health and happiness are directly connected to that of your family. We get this and make it a priority. COMMUNITY OUTREACH – VOLUNTEER TIME OFF We provide all full-time employees with a half day of paid volunteer time annually – volunteering and supporting our local communities is that important that we put our money with our mouth to support you in making a difference. OFFICE FUEL In-office: healthy snacks, drinks, coffee — and the occasional doughnut. COMMUNICATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT To stay connected we hold monthly all team huddles and quarterly all hands meetings to celebrate milestones, share updates, and welcome new hires. Our managers hold regular employee one-on-one sessions to support your goal achievement and personal development. Frequent opportunities for professional development are provided, be it lunch and learns, webinars or out of the office events. We invest in your credentials — we support employees pursuing professional licensure (PG, PE) and other industry certifications through exam fee reimbursement and ongoing renewal support. We are a growing firm with a national footprint ready to support your career advancement. Your professional development and career progression is important to us – when you learn and grow, so do we! The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their job, absent undue hardship. Equal Opportunity Employer Statement: CREtelligent is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values and respects the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce committed to leveraging diverse backgrounds, perspective and experiences that create opportunities for our colleagues and our business. It is the policy of the company to recruit, hire, train and promote persons in all job titles without regard to protected category.
