    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<div style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><div style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><p style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><span style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><strong>Position Summary</strong></span><br>&nbsp;</p></div><div style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><p style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><span style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\">The Shelby County Board of Commissioners’ Summer Youth Program is an invaluable opportunity for students in Shelby County to&nbsp;acquire&nbsp;new skills, achieve financial independence, and expand their professional networks.&nbsp; Eligible participants, ages 14 – 24, can engage in a variety of roles across Shelby County.&nbsp; Interns will have the chance to gain experience in departments of Shelby County Government, as well as private sector organizations that are participants in our program.&nbsp; Participants will receive a competitive wage of $10.00 per hour for ages 14 and 15, and $15.00 per hour for ages 16 to 24. Participants will work from Monday, June 1, 2026, until Friday, July 24, 2026, for eight (8) weeks, hours to be&nbsp;determined&nbsp;by Sponsor.&nbsp;</span></p></div><div style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><p style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><br>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><span style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></span></p><ul><li><span style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\">Must be a Shelby County resident.</span></li><li><span style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\">Must be enrolled in a school program (to include high school, trade, college, or home school).</span></li><li><span style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\">Must be able to present the required documents such as: Driver's License/State ID and Social Security Card.</span></li><li><span style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\">Any students age 18 by June 1st&nbsp;are subject to and must pass a background check.</span><br>&nbsp;</li></ul></div><div style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><p style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><span style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><strong>Disclaimer</strong></span></p><p style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\">&nbsp;</p></div><div style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><p style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\"><span style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px;\">This&nbsp;position is subject to a background check for any convictions that have a substantial relationship to potential job duties.
