S/he provides therapy services defined in treatment plans and works cooperatively with physicians. The Physical Therapist may supervise physical therapy assistant(s).</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Consults with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms.</li><li>Provides manual therapy as part of treatment plan when indicated.</li><li>Assesses and evaluates therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status, and participation in the development of the total plan of care.</li><li>Instructs patients and families/caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic appliances.</li><li>Determines priority needs for physical therapy.</li><li>Reports to physician patient&rsquo;s reaction to treatment or changes in condition and document in patient record (EHR).</li><li>Initiates physical therapy program and coordinates with family members on home programs, exercise, and case conference.</li><li>Identifies patient and family/caregiver needs for other home health services and refers as necessary.</li><li>Prepares and submits a clinical progress summary based on the attainment of goals as directed by Organization policy.</li><li>Performs other relevant job duties as required by manager/supervisor.</li><li>Complies with federal and state regulations.</li><li>Complies with APTA code of ethics.</li><li>Complies with continuation education requirements.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>QUALIFICATIONS:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s, Master&rsquo;s, or Doctoral degree approved by the California Board of Physical Therapy.</li><li>Licensed to practice as physical therapist in California.</li><li>Must meet the educational requirements set by the California Board of Physical Therapy.</li><li>1 year of experience in outpatient setting.</li><li>Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>LANGUAGE:&nbsp;</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English.</li><li>Fluent Chinese speaker (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) preferred.</li><li>Fluent in other languages are an asset.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>STATUS:</u></strong></p><p>This is an FLSA exempt position.<br>This is an OSHA high-risk position.<br><br></p><p>Sign On Bonus: 2 Year Commitment</p><p id=\"isPasted\">NEMS is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer welcoming diversity in our workforce.
