Description
The Department of Media and Strategic Communication at Iona University is seeking dynamic adjunct professors to teach classes in the department for Fall 2026.
While other openings could arise, we are mainly looking for those who could teach one of these classes:
Digital Production: Studio & Field (MSC 327)
This required Digital Media and Production course focuses on advanced video production, both in the studio and in the field.
Course Schedule:
In-person class
Meets two late mornings per week during the Fall 2026 semester
Responsibilities:
Teach one section of MSC 327: Digital Production: Studio & Field
Develop engaging lessons that build on the students' introductory class in digital video production.
Provide timely feedback on assignments
Integrate real-world examples, and industry practices into the course
Maintain regular communication with students and departmental faculty
Submit grades and assessments per university deadlines
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in communication, media studies, or a closely related field
Professional experience working in film or broadcast media is preferred
Expertise with production and editing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience teaching at the university level is preferred but not required

Writing and Storytelling for Public Relations (MSC 370)
This course required of students concentrating in Public Relations focuses on professional writing in the field.
Course Schedule:
In-person class
Meets one evening per week during the Fall 2026 semester
Responsibilities:
Teach one section of MSC 370: Writing and Storytelling for Public Relations
Develop engaging lessons that introduce students to different forms of public relations writing, from press releases to social media.
Provide timely feedback on assignments
Integrate real-world examples, and industry practices into the course
Maintain regular communication with students and departmental faculty
Submit grades and assessments per university deadlines
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in public relations, journalism, communication, media studies, or a closely related field
Professional experience working in public relations is preferred
Expertise in an array of public relations-related writing is essential
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience teaching at the university level is preferred but not required
