We are builders at heart, working to ensure the built environment has a lasting positive impact.<span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> </span><span>&nbsp;</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Let’s Redefine Possible®<span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> </span>&nbsp;</p><p><br><strong>Project Name:</strong>&nbsp;Yellow Cat Wind Project<br><strong>Project Location:</strong>&nbsp;Frost, TX 76641&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>SUMMARY</strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><strong> </strong></span><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Mortenson is currently seeking an ironworker that will be responsible for marking, positioning, and securing structural steel members to reinforce concrete or building structures.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Set up, flag, and inspect a crane; inspect rigging properly&nbsp;</li><li>Check in truck deliveries against bill of lading; direct forklift/crane to unload delivery truck&nbsp;</li><li>Counting bars and bundles of rebar, dobies, and wire mesh&nbsp;</li><li>Directing forklift/crane to unload delivery truck&nbsp;</li><li>Shake out rebar, distribute/organize accordingly; use pliers to tie rebar intersections with tie wire&nbsp;</li><li>Splicing mats or rebar sections together with short rebar dowels&nbsp;</li><li>Understanding building codes/requirements&nbsp;</li><li>Cut excess rebar ends and miscellaneous pieces with gas cut saw or cutting torch&nbsp;</li><li>Install mechanical rebar splices by bolting or welding ends together; install caps on vertical rebar dowels for safety&nbsp;; install rebar dowels into fresh concrete footings&nbsp;</li><li>Determining number, size, shape, and location of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions&nbsp;</li><li>Bending steel rods with hand tools or rodbending machine&nbsp;</li><li>Reinforcing concrete with wire mesh&nbsp;</li><li>Receive and offload all major components; install loose components for nacelle, hub, and tower preparation&nbsp;</li><li>Connect blades to hub; set base and tower sections; handle taglines&nbsp;</li><li>Climb ladders (average 80m)</li><li>Involved with main erection crane assembly and teardown<span>&nbsp;</span></li><li>Ornamental Ironworker: installing prefabricated ornamental ironwork&nbsp;</li><li>Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels&nbsp;</li><li>All other duties as assigned&nbsp;</li></ul><p><br>&nbsp;<strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>High school diploma or GED&nbsp;</li><li>One (1) year of related experience&nbsp;preferred</li><li>Equipment certifications as required&nbsp;</li><li>Current driver’s license&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback</li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; knowledge of equipment and their uses; understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, &amp; multiplication); ability to work independently</li><li>Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements&nbsp;</li><li>*Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs</li><li>Please note: this position description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
