Ability to work under direct supervision of other&nbsp;dentist&#39;s&nbsp;and department&nbsp;head.</p><p><br></p><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp;</p><p>Knowledge of procedures for receiving, routing, scheduling and releasing patients.&nbsp;</p><p>Maintain and order supplies.</p><p>Knowledge of procedures&nbsp;for tracking and processing digital radiographs.</p><p>Knowledge of basic dental instruments and materials in manipulating suctioning and retraction apparatus in patient&#39;s mouth while&nbsp;assisting&nbsp;dentist.&nbsp;(Utilize&nbsp;the practice of four handed dentistry)</p><p>Skill and dexterity in placing and manipulating motor driven instruments to perform intraoral prophylaxis procedures.</p><p>Responsible for registration of patients, updating insurance and other information.</p><p>Make appointments in coordination with school linked&nbsp;dentist.</p><p>Collect fees and close out the day.&nbsp;</p><p>Assists&nbsp;in oral exams, works with special needs families, reviews HIPAA consent forms with patients.</p><p>Sets up dental equipment, coordinates with school nurses and staff&nbsp;regarding&nbsp;setup and student schedule.</p><p>Conducts cleanings (prophy)&nbsp;and&nbsp;administer&nbsp;fluoride treatment.</p><p>Use proper isolation techniques to place dental sealants.</p><p>Ability to clearly&nbsp;articulate and&nbsp;demonstrate&nbsp;oral hygiene instructions and&nbsp;post operative&nbsp;dental instructions.</p><p>Other duties as assigned.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Qualifications: &nbsp;</p><p>High school diploma or equivalent</p><p>Dental assistant certification</p><p><br></p></div></div>\n",
