Reporting to the Director, IWR Planning and Project Management, the Senior Data Analyst plays a key role in leading the development and enhancement of data systems, reporting, and analytics that support Indigenous health initiatives across PHC. Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and organizational partners, this role supports strategic decision-making through data-driven insights, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives grounded in Indigenous data governance principles. In this role, you will: Lead the design, maintenance, and enhancement of data systems, reporting tools, and databases Analyze and manage health care data to support evaluation, research, and quality improvement initiatives Develop reports, dashboards, visualizations, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders Ensure data quality, integrity, privacy, and compliance with Indigenous data governance principles Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and departments on Indigenous data initiatives and strategic projects Support continuous improvement through data analysis, reporting, and system enhancements Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment Perform other related duties as assigned. What You Bring Education, Training and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, Medical Health Information or equivalent. Minimum of five (5) years’ recent related experience with data modelling or data visualization and managing and working with large complex datasets (data extraction, cleaning, merging, analysis). Experience with Indigenous health data, IDG principles and culturally safe data practices. Experience supervising staff is an asset Skills and Abilities Effective communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment involving diverse program partners in health and social services, including physician and nursing communities. Ability to self-motivate, with managerial, leadership and project management skills. Knowledge of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.), with attention to security and confidentiality. Knowledge of modern database and information system technologies. Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets and extrapolate conclusions from large data sets and multiple data sources. Demonstrated high proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.) and statistical software (e.g., R, SAS or SPSS); demonstrated ability to work with SQL; demonstrated ability to work with data analytic/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau and RShiny). Demonstrated attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards. Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to plan and execute complex projects. Experience working with both qualitative and quantitative data an asset. Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. Ability to teach, coach and mentor others. Strong interpersonal relationship management skills, a team player with a client/user orientation. Demonstrated ability to work both independently, and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to apply decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills. Defines and maintains data quality frameworks, data dictionaries, and reference tools to ensure the accuracy, consistency, integrity, legitimacy, and accessibility of data across PHC. Oversees data access, mobilization, collection, analysis, reporting, and privacy/security processes related to Indigenous data requests, research, evaluation projects, and approved survey tools, ensuring compliance with IDG principles, privacy regulations, and organizational standards. Collaborates with Data Analytics, Research, Evaluation, and Clinical Informatics teams to support program evaluation, operational effectiveness, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provides analytical support, IDG advisory services, guidance, protocols, and resources to staff, students, trainees, and data requestors, while overseeing documentation, system improvements, and software/hardware recommendations.
