Description
Morrison Center is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to work on our Compliance Team. This role will be based out of Westbrook, ME.
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for supporting organizational compliance, quality improvement, and regulatory monitoring activities across B ehavioral H ealth (DLC) and Home and Community Supports Services (HCSS) licensed programs . This role conducts internal audits, compliance reviews, trend analyses, and corrective action monitoring to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, DLC Behavioral Health Licensing standards, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.
The Quality Assurance Specialist also coordinates quarterly risk management reviews and supports ongoing risk prevention activities.
Risk Management Responsibilities
Support organizational risk prevention and management activities.
Coordinate and document required quarterly risk management reviews related to:
Service modalities and practices involving risk or limitation of choice
Restrictive interventions, including restraint and seclusion
Client danger-to-self or others determinations
Physical plant and environmental safety concerns
Client grievances, incidents, and accidents
Medication administration concerns
Confidentiality and privacy breaches
Develop, monitor, and track corrective action plans related to identified risks and compliance concerns.
Assist leadership with organization and preparation of documentation related to the annual risk assessment.

Essential Functions:
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Conduct internal quality assurance reviews and compliance audits across programs and services.
Monitor compliance with all regulations, l icensing standards, organizational policies, and documentation requirements.
Identify compliance concerns, operational risks, documentation deficiencies, and quality improvement opportunities.
Prepare written audit findings, trend analyses, summaries, and compliance reports for leadership review.
Track, monitor , and follow up on corrective action plans to ensure timely resolution of identified concerns.
Maintain audit tools, review templates, compliance trackers, and quality assurance records.
HCSS Compliance Monitoring: Conduct and coordinate HCSS internal reviews to include
Client Rights & Protections: Verify client rights are communicated, documented, and protected. Monitor compliance related to abuse, neglect, exploitation prevention, incident reporting, and grievance procedures.
Service Delivery : Audit services to ensure alignment with authorized plans and person-centered practices.
Review documentation to confirm quality standards have been met.
Assessment & Planning : Ensure assessments, ISPs, and service plans are current, complete, and compliant.
Verify measurable goals and client participation in planning processes.
Staffing & Supervision: Review personnel records for qualifications, training completion, supervision documentation, and background checks.
Health & Safety: Monitor compliance related to incident management, medication support practices, emergency preparedness, and environmental safety.
DLC Behavioral Health Licensing Compliance: Monitor compliance with DLC Behavioral Health Licensing standards including:
