They need to be skilled in the assessment of patients and capable of using high tech equipment. ICU nurses must possess the physical, mental and emotional stamina to work with seriously ill patients and their loved ones.</p>\n<p>Some of the specialty skills performed: </p>\n<p>·         Care of patients on ventilators </p>\n<p>·         Calculate medication dosages and titrate potent medications.</p>\n<p>·         Hemodynamic monitoring </p>\n<p>·         External pacing </p>\n<p>·         12 lead EKG interpretation</p>\n<p>·         Cardiac rhythm interpretation</p>\n<p>·         Care of patients with arterial lines</p>\n<p>·         Removal of venous sheaths (South)</p>\n<p>·         Monitoring life support equipment</p>\n<p>·         Provides care to balloon pump patient (South)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>EDUCATION:</p>\n<p>                       High School Graduate or Equivalent</p>\n<p>                       Graduate of an accredited nursing program </p>\n<p>                       Minimum of one year RN experience preferred  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION<strong>:</strong> </p>\n<p>                       Licensure by the Alabama State Board of Nursing  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>·     After orientation demonstrates and maintains skills and knowledge pertinent to the practice and </p>\n<p>            education of a Registered Nurse.</p>\n<p>·     After orientation demonstrates competence of the care of the intensive care patient </p>\n<p>·     Successful completion of an ACLS and PALS course within one year of hire   </p>\n<p>                        </p>\n<h2>About Us</h2>\n<p>Lake Guntersville, a mountain-lakes jewel, is located approximately 30 miles from metro Huntsville – and is home to Marshall Medical Centers. </p>\n<p><strong>Marshall Medical Centers</strong>, an affiliate of the Huntsville Hospital Health System, serves the residents of Marshall County and the surrounding area (population approximately 125,000).
