Create a positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><u><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned:</strong></u></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with lesson plans and YMCA guidelines.&nbsp;</li>\r\n\t<li>Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helping to build the connection with the YMCA.&nbsp; Encourage parental involvement and identify potential volunteers.</li>\r\n\t<li>Share information on aquatics programming and subsequent schedules.&nbsp; As appropriate refer students and parents to other YMCA programs.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintain accurate, complete and timely program records including but not limited to attendance sheets, progress reports and accident/incident forms.</li>\r\n\t<li>Understand, communicate and consistently apply all safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.</li>\r\n\t<li>Report any unsafe conditions/equipment to supervisor immediately.</li>\r\n\t<li>Attend all staff meetings and in-service trainings.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><u><strong>Child Protection Responsibilities:</strong></u></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth.</li>\r\n\t<li>Participates in required abuse risk management training.</li>\r\n\t<li>Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.</li>\r\n\t<li>Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.</li>\r\n\t<li>Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n",
