The Concrete Block Machine Operator operates a batching system that feeds aggregates, cement, and water mixed together creating the ideal mix design to form a strong dependable block.  Once the material is mixed, it is the operators job to set machine parameters that will feed and form the concrete block with high levels of vibration.  After a minimum of 16 hours the block is cured enough that it can be handled and formed to be shipped at a later date.  The operator is responsible for operating the dry side of the machine that creates a safe practical pattern to be shipped.  All of this while monitoring our quality standards set by the industry and Easton Block specifications. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why work for H&K Group, Inc.? </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>100% Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n <li>Additional training opportunities including on the job, online through the H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies</li>\n <li>Understands the proper mixing sequence of Grey Block and applies that to the batching system to create the ideal mix design. </li>\n <li>Operates the wetside of the Block Machine with the set parameters and monitors moisture, dimensions, color and imperfections of the block</li>\n <li>Operates the dryside of the Block Machine with set cube patterns for ideal shipping</li>\n <li>Dislodges block jams that cause machine downtime by hand or equipment designed to help the operator in tight spaces. </li>\n <li>Removes materials or products from discharge end of conveyor that are deemed scrap and disposes of them in the proper waste container</li>\n <li>Inspects materials or products for damage or for conformity to specifications</li>\n <li>Uses hoist to assist in mold changes of different products</li>\n <li>Stencils, tags, stamps, or writes identifying information on packaged products</li>\n <li>Records production.</li>\n <li>Keeps work area clean and orderly</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>One month of related experience and/or training</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Willing to learn how to operate block manufacturing, curing, cubing machinery</li>\n <li>Mechanically inclined and willing to learn basic preventative maintenance/repair on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems</li>\n <li>Able to use hand and air tools</li>\n <li>Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution</li>\n <li>Experience in heavy manufacturing, civil construction, road construction, or quarries</li>\n <li>MSHA, OSHA or other relevant safety certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly required to</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Stand</li>\n  <li>Use hands to handle wet and dry concrete</li>\n  <li>Reach with hands and arms</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Frequently required to walk</li>\n <li>Occasionally required to</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Climb or balance on or around equipment that is safely locked out</li>\n  <li>Communicating in a loud environment</li>\n  <li>Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Vision requirements include</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Depth perception</li>\n  <li>Ability to adjust focus</li>\n  <li>Ability to notice fine details regularly</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly exposed to</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Moving mechanical machine parts</li>\n  <li>Fumes or airborne particles</li>\n  <li>Loud consistent noise</li>\n  <li>Cement dust</li>\n  <li>Conveyor belts and rollers</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Frequently exposed to</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Outside weather conditions</li>\n  <li>Vibration equipment</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Easton Block and Supply </strong>(EB&S) has been a proud member of H&K Group, Inc.’s (H&K’s) Building Materials segment since 1989.
