This is a senior-level opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence, leadership, and client collaboration.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a unique opportunity to play a role in shaping the future of how people move— delivering innovative, data driven traffic and transportation solutions and strategic planning that support thriving, connected communities.</p>\n<h2> </h2>\n<p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead and manage traffic engineering projects including traffic operations studies, intersection and corridor analysis, and traffic signal design.</li>\n <li>Perform and oversee traffic modeling and simulation using tools such as Synchro, HCS, and VISSIM to support planning and design decisions.</li>\n <li>Develop detailed plans for traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, and traffic control in compliance with MUTCD, AASHTO, and state/local standards.</li>\n <li>Conduct safety assessments, intersection improvement studies, and access management evaluations to enhance roadway performance.</li>\n <li>Coordinate effectively with clients, DOTs, municipalities, MPOs, and subconsultants to ensure timely and successful project delivery.</li>\n <li>Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians, including QA/QC reviews to uphold quality standards.</li>\n <li>Support business development through proposal writing, scope definition, and cultivating strong client relationships.</li>\n <li>Stay informed on evolving transportation policies, standards, and emerging technologies impacting traffic operations, safety, and design.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What you'll bring: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.</li>\n <li>Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire or Rhode Island </li>\n <li>PTOE certification is preferred.</li>\n <li>Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in traffic or transportation engineering.</li>\n <li>Strong working knowledge of DOT Design Manuals, MUTCD, AASHTO, and relevant state DOT standards.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, and MicroStation or AutoCAD; experience with TransModeler is a plus.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven experience working directly with clients and agency staff.</li>\n <li>Experience with ITS design, traffic signal timing, and system optimization is desirable.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with HSIP safety analyses and predictive analysis tools is a plus.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Salary- $115,000 - $130,000+ depending on experience</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#LI-HYBRID</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Innovative and reliable for more than a century, Weston & Sampson strives to make the world a better place through interdisciplinary design, engineering, and environmental services.
