    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Estate Maintenance</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The Role</span></p>\n<p><br>Charterhall Estate has an exciting opportunity for an Estate Maintenance team member to join us on a full-time permanent basis. This role might suit someone who is looking to start their career and develop new skills in maintenance and estate work.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>We have an opportunity for a skilled ‘hands on’ person with a flexible and practical attitude. Reporting to the Estate Overseer the role will require a personable, energetic and practical person to, to undertake various maintenance tasks across the estate. The ideal candidate will have a ‘can do’, proactive and energetic approach towards work.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>We’re looking for someone who can bring a positive attitude, show initiative and take ownership of tasks whilst also being willing to support colleagues when needed.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The job is varied and involves estate maintenance duties working both indoors and outdoors. You should have a passion for the outdoors that will contribute to the estate team’s objective of delivering an excellent estate environment for those who live and work in the locality.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>By joining the Charterhall Estate, you’ll be surrounded by dedicated and talented individuals who are passionate about what they do, giving you the opportunity to learn and develop.  Experience in a similar position is desired, however full training will be provided.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Personal Attributes</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are seeking an honest, organised, tidy-minded and proactive team member who thrives in a hands-on, outdoor working environment</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A good interest &amp; knowledge of the countryside is desirable</li>\n<li>A broad traditional estate skillset covering property repairs, operating agricultural machinery/ground-care equipment and good communication skills are desirable</li>\n<li>You will report to the Estate Overseer and also manage your day-to-day duties including property and grounds maintenance operations</li>\n<li>The estate is committed to helping its employees to improve their skills with relevant training</li>\n<li>The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and will be able to work on their own initiative as well as being part of a team</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Experience/Qualifications</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Full Drivers Licence valid in the UK</p>\n<p>An ability to multi-task, organise and problem solve</p>\n<p>A good aptitude for all-round general maintenance (DIY) tasks</p>\n<p>Ground care experience i.e. grass cutting, hedge cutting, strimming</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience that is Advantageous but Not Essential</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>ATV driving</p>\n<p>Biomass Heating Systems</p>\n<p>Building Work</p>\n<p>Chainsaw</p>\n<p>Electrical Work</p>\n<p>Equine experience</p>\n<p>Fencing</p>\n<p>Forwarder Forestry Driving &amp; Timber Handling</p>\n<p>Grass cutting</p>\n<p>Ghillieing &amp; fishing</p>\n<p>Hedge/Tree Planting</p>\n<p>JCB/360 Excavator Operations</p>\n<p>Joinery Work</p>\n<p>Lorry Licence - up to 7.5 tonnes</p>\n<p>Painting</p>\n<p>Plumbing</p>\n<p>Property Drain-downs/Inspections/Inventories</p>\n<p>Sheep Handling</p>\n<p>Spraying (PA1, PA6)</p>\n<p>Strimming</p>\n<p>Team Leading/Working</p>\n<p>Telehandler Operations</p>\n<p>Trapping, pest &amp; vermin control</p>\n<p>Tractor Driving + Trailer</p>\n<p>Transportation of Livestock</p>\n<p>Trough &amp; water connections maintenance (Scottish Water - Water ground worker course)</p>\n<p>Understanding of central heating systems &amp; other household services</p>\n<p>Vehicle Maintenance</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Please support your application with a covering letter as to why the position is of interest to you and why you feel you have a compatible skill set or otherwise.</span></p>",
