Description

Overview At Groups, the Senior Staff Provider, Access works with a small team of experienced providers, counselors, and support-staff to facilitate intakes and enhanced medical support throughout the early weeks of treatment for Groups members. You will leverage telemedicine extensively in your work, so you must be comfortable with technology and enthusiastic about the benefits of this exciting modality. You will work daily to overcome the barriers faced by members early in recovery and must adopt a “member-first” attitude that prioritizes keeping members safe and engaged in treatment at all costs. Flexibility, empathy, and commitment to member success are critical attributes for a successful Senior Staff Provider. You will also provide longitudinal maintenance care to a panel of members. Additionally, you will support your regular provider colleagues by providing coverage when medical questions or needs arise, and these providers are unavailable. Your knowledge of the Groups Recovery policies and procedures, as well as, the Groups culture, will be critical for ensuring successful launches of Groups into new markets and new geographies within existing markets. Finally, you will be an integral partner of the medical leadership team in developing and deploying new medical service lines for our members. Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Adhere to all outlined policies and procedures as outlined Intake medical duties Determine each member’s medical necessity and appropriateness for treatment pursuant to applicable clinical models, policies and procedures, and manuals as required by Recover Together. For members admitted to treatment, prescribe buprenorphine/naloxone and, where appropriate, other approved medications to treat withdrawal symptoms, in a manner consistent with Recover Together’s policies and procedures. Maintain a regular schedule of “intake shifts” and be available to provide rapid-access telemedicine intakes across multiple geographies, including new markets. Complete all intake documentation thoroughly, efficiently, and accurately. Be accountable for the successful initiation of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) during the early weeks of treatment (weeks 1-4, approximately). As needed, coordinate with community providers to support the successful transition of new members into Groups. Collaborate with other provider colleagues to transition the care of new members into regular maintenance groups. Escalate controversial situations to appropriate medical and/or clinical leadership Additional Medical Responsibilities In addition to standard provider duties, the physician in this role will provide coverage and operational support for the Medical Director during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of clinical oversight and decision-making as needed. Deliver medical supervision for assigned Access Staff Providers, including availability for consultation, clinical guidance, and support related to patient care activities. Perform required chart reviews for designated Access Staff Providers and complete co-signature documentation in accordance with organizational policy, regulatory standards, and quality expectations. Facilitate access to the State’s prescription drug monitoring database so Groups staff can regularly monitor the Provider’s patients’ access to controlled substances, per Recover Together’s clinical protocols. Participate in prescription coverage for unavailable providers if warranted by standard operating procedures guidelines. Provide cross-coverage as needed for colleagues Medical Records In compliance with HIPAA and other applicable federal or state laws, rules or regulations regarding medical records, maintain patient records in confidence and complete records in a timely fashion and in accordance with policies of the Company. Administrative Duties Completing high quality documentation, specifically all medical encounters accurately and thoroughly on the same business day as the encounter Sign all prescriptions on the same business day that they are generated Manage individual sessions in a timely manner so members and office staff stay on schedule Assist with onboarding, training and support of new providers Stay familiar with all Recover Together policies, procedures, reference materials, contracts, etc. Serve as collaborating physician for assigned NP/PA providers, if applicable. This includes completing supervision, documentation reviews, and chart reviews, as required by state specific. Follow up on interprofessional communications Other Duties and Responsibilities: Work with the medical leadership team to pilot new initiatives to improve outcomes during early treatment Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to maintain courteous and professional communications with staff and members (verbal and written) Ability to demonstrate recovery-sensitive behaviors, including choice of language, attitudes and interactions with members and staff Ability to use discretion and work independently under general supervision. Willing and able to become licensed in multiple states through compact or individual means where Groups operates or will operate (support available from Groups) Willing and able to become credentialed with all government and private health plans with whom Groups Recover Together is in network Ability to see members in person as needed (per state regulations) at several state locations For remote roles, access to reliable internet and telephone services, specifically 50M download and 10M upload package or higher as well as a strong WiFi signal from your remote work location to support telemedicine Ability to understand and adhere to the Code of Conduct. Qualifications Physician (MD/DO) with license in good standing If a candidate does not have Intrastate Medical Licensure Compact at time of hire, they will apply and obtain it within 6 months of hire. Additionally, licensure in all states where Groups is operating or intending to operate will need to be obtained within 1 year of hire. DEAX (DATA) waiver 2+ year of experience managing OUT with buprenorphine, preferably within the Groups Recovery System 2+ year of experience working in a team-based care setting with behavioral health providers (therapists, social workers, case managers) 5+ years experience working with a similar member population, preferably within primary care of behavioral setting Must meet pre-employment requirements and maintain all applicable state and job-related guidelines for background screening. Depending on state-specific requirements, this may include fingerprinting, drug testing, health screening, CPR/Basic First Aid and license/credential verifications.
