    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>The Work:</strong></p>\n<p>The Interpreter will provide interpretation within the State of California to reach individuals with a language barrier. Interpretation will consist of but not limited to Education, legal, Medical, Environmental, and Social Services, etc. </p>\n<p>This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Accurately interpreting spoken work situations like lectures, conversations, and meetings. </p></li>\n <li><p>Utilizing technology to transcribe spoken English in some settings. </p></li>\n <li><p>Other duties as assigned. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<strong>Qualifications – Here’s What You Need:  </strong>\n<ul>\n <li><p>High School/BA Degree or equivalent in years of experience  </p>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Medical Interpreting Training School  </li>\n   <li>Foreign Service Institute</li>\n   <li>Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters.\n    <ul>\n     <li>40/60hr medical training.</li>\n    </ul></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Experience with State Department experience/ refugees, FDA, Health & Human services, Medical, Legal, Housing Authority etc.</li>\n <li>Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.</li>\n <li>Must possess problem-solving skills.</li>\n <li>Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written</li>\n <li>Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.</li>\n <li>Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.</li>\n <li>Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.</li>\n <li>Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Reports to: </strong>Deputy Program Manager  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Professional environment.</p></li>\n <li><p>Must be able to be on-call. Interpreter will be notified within  48 hours of potential jobs.</p></li>\n <li><p>Must be able to travel to different locations to interpret in-person.</p></li>\n <li><p>Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position. </p></li>\n <li><p>Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.</p></li>\n <li><p>Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.</p></li>\n <li><p>May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.</p></li>\n <li><p>May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.</p></li>\n <li><p>May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours. </p></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
