About the Role The Senior Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) electronic Patient Care Reporting (ePCR) solution implementation across Saskatchewan. Acting as a bridge between clinical, business, and technical teams, this role contributes to a province-wide initiative that enables real-time access to patient information, improved clinical documentation, and enhanced interoperability across healthcare partners. This position focuses on requirements management, stakeholder engagement, and supporting system design, testing, and deployment activities. The Senior Business Analyst works closely with vendors, technical teams, and healthcare stakeholders to ensure solution delivery aligns with clinical workflows, operational needs, and organizational priorities. What You’ll Do Reporting to the Manager, Acute and Emergency Care Services, you will: • Lead the technical workstream by eliciting hardware requirements, evaluating facility readiness, and supporting integrations. • Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to ensure alignment across business, clinical, and system requirements • Facilitate workshops, working sessions, and stakeholder meetings, including documenting outcomes, decisions, and action items • Manage requirements throughout the lifecycle, including traceability, validation, and change impact assessment • Collaborate with vendors and delivery teams to support Agile processes, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and solution validation • Support design and validation of workflows, data flows, and system specifications aligned with clinical and operational needs • Develop and execute testing artifacts (test plans, test cases, acceptance criteria) and support defect tracking and resolution • Contribute to deployment readiness, go-live activities, and post-implementation support across a provincial rollout What You’ll Bring to the Team • A post-secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. • Minimum five years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role, within an integrated IT or healthcare environment.[MS3.1][TA3.2] • Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design techniques. • Proven documentation, interpersonal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into actionable strategies as well as lead, develop, and manage effective relationships with stakeholders. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present ideas and recommendations to clinical and IT professionals. • Knowledge of IT Service Management and Change Management concepts. • Prior experience working with ePCR software such as Medusa Siren • An IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation and/or a PMP certification is considered an asset. • Previous experience contributing to or supporting EMS system implementations would also be considered an asset. Competencies Communication: Ability to clearly explain and present technical and business information verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences. Leadership: Ability to guide initiatives, manage change, and support implementation while navigating shifting priorities and constraints. Problem Solving: Ability to evaluate processes and information technology options to develop effective, well-supported solutions. Interpersonal: Ability to build cooperative and effective working relationships with coworkers, clients and stakeholders. Teamwork/Independence: Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team. Organizational: Ability to independently prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Analytical: Ability to synthesize complex information to support decision-making and solution development. Technical: Ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications and maintain supporting standards and implementation documentation.
