Maintains confidentiality and ethical standards as identified by the NYS OASAS and other relevant governing bodies. Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Monitors residents to assure a safe therapeutic environment.</li><li>Makes hourly visual contact with residents and documents in client observation record</li><li>Monitor and support residents’ efforts in maintaining their comprehensive plan for admission, ongoing treatment and discharge of transfers.</li><li>Implements recreational activities as created by the vocational specialist or residential team.</li><li>Cover non-clinical psychoeducational groups as needed</li><li>Observes peer led activities</li><li>Provides transportation when needed</li><li>Conducts room and personal belonging searches to ensure the safety of the environment and program participants.&nbsp;</li><li>Conducts urine toxicology screens as scheduled or randomly if needed while practicing universal precautions</li><li>Provides conflict management to residents as needed</li><li>Supervises preparation of meals by clients to assure sanitation, safety &amp; nutritional standards are met satisfactorily. Required to complete L2 certification</li><li>Maintains cleanliness of facility, including assigning chores, cleanup tasks and doing necessary follow-up to ensure satisfactory completion.&nbsp;</li><li>Debriefs relevant information to incoming employees during shift exchange; conducts visible rounds to ensure all residents are accounted for and environment is safe at beginning and end of each shift</li><li>Carries out emergency procedures to assure safety of residents and staff when required.</li><li>Notifies Residence Manager of any emergency situations immediately.</li><li>Conducts monthly fire drills.</li><li>Engages security system.</li><li>Provides medication observation and monitoring utilizing established protocols in absence of LPN coverage&nbsp;</li><li>Completes and maintains all necessary documentation in compliance with the agency and appropriate regulatory standards.&nbsp;</li><li>Enters shift notes into electronic client record database per each scheduled shift&nbsp;</li><li>Completes group notes into electronic client record database by the end of each shift&nbsp;</li><li>Completes incident reports, documenting any unusual incidents or situations as needed.</li><li>Participates in relevant Agency meetings and/or trainings&nbsp;</li><li>Actively pursues development of professional competencies related to job role performance through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences and workshops.&nbsp;</li><li>Awareness and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan.
