Land Based and Mobile Implementation Coordinator
Location: #200 12308 111 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta
Closing Date: Until Suitable Candidate Found
Position Status: Full-time (40 hours/week) Permanent
The Otipemisiwak Métis Government is recruiting for a Land Based and Mobile Implementation Coordinator. The successful candidate will report to the Land Based and Mobile Learning Manager and will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and cultural events, tracking the development of necessary resources, responding to community inquiries, and supporting other Children and Family Services (CFS) initiatives within the Otipemisiwak Métis Government CFS Department. The successful candidate will have experience supporting programs and events, and strong organizational, technological, writing, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
Manage intake applications, assess and determine program eligibility, and register citizens in CFS program(s).
Answer incoming calls, take messages, redirect phone calls, and respond to e-mail inquiries.
Collect and organize appropriate information and documentation for program access.
Create, maintain, and evaluate systems that will support the ongoing design, delivery, and evaluation of CFS programs.
Calculate, track, request, and distribute accurate financial reimbursements based on program criteria, where required.
Track program metrics such as the number of people accessing each program, financial reimbursements distributed, and anonymized demographic information.
Create and distribute brochures, pamphlets, and social media content to advertise CFS Early Years programs.
Coordinate registration management and data entry using programs such as Google Forms and Google Sheets.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with Métis families, communities, and internal and external partners.
Collaborate, coordinate, and support CFS programs and events as required.
Other duties as required or assigned.
Skills & Competencies
High level of computer skills and knowledge of computer programs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Forms), and/or other software’s (Asana, Intelligenz, Google Daily).
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and communicate and respond calmly and professionally in difficult situations.
Passionate, trustworthy, and empathetic.
Ability to maintain a positive, helpful attitude and be empathetic and non-judgmental when assisting Métis Albertans.
Recognized strength in creating personable, professional relationships in-person and virtually.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to be flexible and allocate time and resources effectively.
Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment and communicate and respond calmly in difficult situations.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Political and cultural sensitivity.
Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and issues affecting Métis people. An in-depth understanding of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government and Métis culture, people, and values.
Qualifications
An academic or employment background in administration and/or Children and Family Services is an asset.
Two to three years’ experience in a similar role is an asset.
Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
Other Requirements
Position will be based in Edmonton.
Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends is required, with notice.
Some travel within Alberta is required, with notice.
Must have a Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Acceptable attainment of a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check and an Intervention Record Check is required.
